Xpel Stealth? Badass or a bad mistake?

To the folks in the Bay Area (south Bay), is there a regular car wash place you guys would recommend (something better than a gas-station car wash)? Maybe an occasional detail work?
I have yet to find any that is not a shit hole.
We use a pressure washer and soap then a leaf blower to dry, takes 15 minutes-30 minutes with the ceramic coating

Doesn't OCdetailing have a guy?

Totally agree. I also used a pressure washer with foaming, then hand wash, rinse, blow dry, and microfibre for touch ups. Did that for three years with the Panamera after it was ceramic coated and never had any water spots or problems. Very easy to keep looking great!! Plan to do the same with my Dream when I finally get it.

Maybe you answered this before but why ceramic coating, why not PPF?

@Paladin732, I'm thinking of just doing the PPF at the same place you went to (OCDetailing). Any idea of how much that's going to cost? Thanks!

They will only do PPF *and* ceramic. Won’t let something leave the lot they don’t think is perfect.

I think the red would look nice with the top blacked out. Would make it look sporty and stealthy.
I'm doing my top in black satin. If I don't like it, I'll change to glossy black. Will see in a couple of weeks.

Can one run through a car wash with all of that or are you destined to eternally hand wash?

The treatments are not equivalent. Ceramic gives you the glossy pop, with no real protection of the painted surface. The PPF is thicker and protects the paint surface.

Really? I thought you can do a partial coverage.

@pam4_AGT give them a call, tell them @borski and I sent you (the twin Reds!) I know he offers cheaper packages

I could very well be wrong! Give them a ring and report back!
