UX 2.5 OTA Update

I'm enjoying the SSP tone improvement but I don't think it'll satisfy those who want or already have added a sub. I am impressed by what Robert Windel was able to do with tuning, and it is leagues better now. It's clear the new sub bass boost is pushing the woofers now too, especially the fronts under the dash. I actually reduced the bass eq to just +1 click now and it sounds richer, fuller. Well done Lucid!
Do you have the YSC applied?

I'm curious if the sound improvements apply to the Dolby Logic sound tracks? I only listen to my Tidal Dolby Logic Playlist so I don't have the ability to adjust the eq settings when listening to Dolby. I am seeing greater sound capabilities so I know that feature is working with Dolby recordings but not sure about the increased bass????

Mrs. TakeDuo says the Pure is significantly better sounding! She routinely pointed out what she thought was lackluster audio. Our TSC was finished last month.

GT is in the shop getting the HV battery replaced and a new rear drive unit so I am unable to test for myself. I look forward to getting it back soon!

I had this physical upgrade performed on my Air with SS Pro and it definitely improves the sound quality. I'm awaiting the improvements offered by the current software update.
Another question about the current update (which my car is receiving as I write). I notice many desirable improvements, but Android Auto is not among them. I was under the impression we'd receive Android Auto this month?

Lucid said in the 'fall' and AA is apparently in Google's hands awaiting final approval. We'll get AA once it's cleared by Google, so who knows when.

And there are owners who used to consistently get updates early, because they were on the early update list, and are now also losers EVERY TIME, after they criticized one of the previous software updates. Coincidence?
Thanks to the undercover SW engineer who pushed the update to me after this comment :p
Just got it, installing it now, and excited to experience the SSP improvement, my tape fix was done during a recent service

Im still waiting for the update... im anxious to get it my 25 AGT

I got confirmation that my Air Pure had the above work done the last time it was in the shop and no changes are needed for the latest update. I thought that the low frequencies and bass sounded better with 2.5.0 but I need a better audio sample. I don't subscribe to Tidal or Spotify. I just have Youtube Premium including Youtube music Premium.

So Dec 20th is the end of fall but does Google care that much for the few AA Lucid owners?

Improvements in bass are noticeable, but max volume isn’t that higher in my experience. I’ll try to get a free trial with Tidal to test it out.
The additional decimal point in efficiency is finally visible in this version.
The issue of unintentional change of regen braking in the essentials screen, which was introduced in 2.3.10, has been fixed in 2.5. Thanks to the SW engineers reading our feedback here.

So is it confirmed that TSC-B0824-001-01 is what's needed to "unlock" the full SSP enhancement? I don't think my car has had that applied yet

just updated to 2.5 and I have to say although the bass response is better, I miss the clarity and complexity of the previous SSP. The new system sounded like it was missing the depth and nuances that the previous one provided. Anyone else feel the same way?

Hi, @mcr16! Perhaps you could shed some light on the TSC 'tape fix' requirement, as it relates to us owners with SSP wanting to activate the related enhancements embedded in the 2.5 OTA update. @borski, who I generally find to be the soul of credibility, says that "You need TSC-B0824-001-01, and once that is complete (in Lucid's tracking system), it will "unlock" the new audio system in software automatically....". However, some owners are reporting significant post-update SSP improvements, without having completed any prior 'tape fix'.

While I understand that this TSC is needed to realize the 'full positive effect' of the SSP software changes, I find it kind of hard to believe that the benefits would not be realized 'at all' before the TSC is completed, due to not being activated. I myself had the 'close but no cigar' TSB tape fix last August, and I'm fairly confident that I would not need to bother customer service right away with the TSC 'tape fix' if these software enhancements were activated upon installation.

Otherwise, many of us SSP audiophiles are going to be urgently trying to get this TSC implemented ASAP! Would you please clarify? Thanks!
There are audio improvements experienced without the fix, which many are noting, but the tuning will be improved further after the hardware adjustment as specified in TSC-B0824-001-01.

Thanks so much, @mcr16! Pardon me being dense, but I think you are saying that all of the SSP software will be activated upon installation, but that the sound will further improve once the TSC is done. Is that correct?

Are there any audio improvements with regular SS? It wasnt clear from the release notes because they say "Low listening-level sound quality improvement" without any system qualification and then go on a few lines later to talk about improvements to SSP.

I’ll let her confirm, of course, but I read it as “new tape is better than old tape,” but the tuning changes after “new tape” that are then activated are yet further improvements.

It isn’t just a passive improvement, per my understanding.

So I should ask to have mine updated to "new tape"?

I do. I had the terrible woofer noise long before this update that was fixed by the new butyl tape application.
That is not necessarily the same thing. Check your service invoice. If you did not *specifically* have TSC-B0824-001-01 applied, you do not have the fix.

The old tape applied by the TSB, not the TSC, is not the same.

Make sure you have the TSC.
