UX 2.5 OTA Update

I checked my service invoice from August '24 - fabric tape was replaced with a butyl damping tape patch.
Now waiting for 2.5

Hi, @mcr16! Perhaps you could shed some light on the TSC 'tape fix' requirement, as it relates to us owners with SSP wanting to activate the related enhancements embedded in the 2.5 OTA update. @borski, who I generally find to be the soul of credibility, says that "You need TSC-B0824-001-01, and once that is complete (in Lucid's tracking system), it will "unlock" the new audio system in software automatically....". However, some owners are reporting significant post-update SSP improvements, without having completed any prior 'tape fix'.

While I understand that this TSC is needed to realize the 'full positive effect' of the SSP software changes, I find it kind of hard to believe that the benefits would not be realized 'at all' before the TSC is completed, due to not being activated. I myself had the 'close but no cigar' TSB tape fix last August, and I'm fairly confident that I would not need to bother customer service right away with the TSC 'tape fix' if these software enhancements were activated upon installation.

Otherwise, many of us SSP audiophiles are going to be urgently trying to get this TSC implemented ASAP! Would you please clarify? Thanks!

I received 2.5.0 and previously had the tape fix a few months ago shortly after getting the AT. I noticed slightly better bass response, but I wonder whether it's more volume-related rather than actually "better" or deeper bass per se. Is it possible that my original "tape fix" wasn't fully logged to "unlock" the new software?

Anyway, I just reconnected my aftermarket subwoofer for deeper bass. I'll be at the SC next week for a set of winter tires/wheels, so I can ask about "unlocking" then as well.

You flatter me. But yeah, of course I only knew what I currently understand. I never had the option to test it without the tape fix as mine got done a week before I got the update, coincidentally.

I received the update, but it failed with a message about a hardware issue. I have 2 other issues with my Touring being rear distance warning unavailable (i.e. cameras work but can't sense distance) and window actuator starting to fail. So, I just spoke with Dana in KOP. The hardware issue requires a TCU replacement that is not offered through mobile service . . . and the first available appointment in KOP is not until December 10. Wow.

OK, so I'm new to Lucid. I just got my 2025 Touring last Wednesday. This is also my first EV, so please bear with my ignorance.

Is everyone supposed to receive the update at the same time, or is this like a Microsoft update that gets "rolled" out? (Obviously I'm asking because I haven't gotten the update yet)

I'm hoping that my car having literally come off the production line 2 weeks ago that this speaker/tape issue has already been rectified. However, is there any way for me to confirm that without disassembling the A-pillar?

Rolled out.

Today, I got to experience curb rush alert function for the first time. My first impression is that it needs lots of work still. I wasn't near any curbs what so ever and it came up at least twice this morning. First occurrence was backing out of the garage where my driveway meets the grass flat area. Its a narrow driveway, so I have to drive on the edge. Car thought that edge of the driveway was a "curb" and displayed warning with audible alert. Second situation was turning left on the intersection. While waiting for the light to change the 360 camera came on the double yellow line on the left was highlighted orange as I stopped close to it. I am thinking about turning off this feature until it gets improved. Seems like it doesn't take into consideration the height of the surface at all and it's more annoying than helpful.

There are winners and losers when it comes to rollout speed, and it changes every update for some reason.

Second Request: When someone receives an email from Lucid about the required adjustment to the vehicle's audio hardware, as referenced in the 2.5 release notes, would you please post any specific details provided? Thanks!

It sounds like quite a number of us, unlike me, have already received the 2.5 update, but I have yet to hear of anyone receiving this email. It sure would be helpful to know what it says.

...and then, there are owners who are losers EVERY TIME! My daughter was offered 2.4 for her Chevy Bolt before I got it! :)
And there are owners who used to consistently get updates early, because they were on the early update list, and are now also losers EVERY TIME, after they criticized one of the previous software updates. Coincidence?

I believe this is undocumented change. I noticed that efficiency numbers now have 2 digit decimals with 2.5.0.
It is, I noticed it yesterday. More efficiency details.

I was approved for that early update list, and as far as I could tell, it was never implemented. Not that I'm complaining about that!!! :)

Unfortunately I seem to be having intermittent camera failures, every time I've driven it after 2.5 was installed the cameras randomly failed when the automatically came on due to obstacles.

They seem to work at first and then fail when an obstacle is detected later in the drive.
Experienced this twice yesterday. Sending message to Lucid later today.

I also experienced similar issues today with cameras failing to load. I think this is related to Curb rash alert feature. I am planning on disabling it to see if the camera load issues go away.

Is it my imagination, or did the recent OTA improve the throttle response? I typically drive in Sprint. I did not see a reference to such a change in the update summary but noticed a difference in a short drive. Whether it did or not, I am grateful for the continued improvements after two years of ownership. No, the Air GT is not perfect. I still get occasional glitches in my CarPlay audio connection and random warnings, such as those about camera malfunction, that have cleared upon restart, but even fewer with each OTA. What is especially impressive about Lucid is its continued drive to improve the owner experience.

I'm enjoying the SSP tone improvement but I don't think it'll satisfy those who want or already have added a sub. I am impressed by what Robert Windel was able to do with tuning, and it is leagues better now. It's clear the new sub bass boost is pushing the woofers now too, especially the fronts under the dash. I actually reduced the bass eq to just +1 click now and it sounds richer, fuller. Well done Lucid!
