UX 2.5 OTA Update

So I should ask to have mine updated to "new tape"?
Check your previous service invoices for the TSC number. If it’s not there, the next time a service sees your car for anything they will apply it regardless.

You’ll get an email if you need it too.

But the TSC number is how you’d identify it, refer to it, or anything else.

That is not necessarily the same thing. Check your service invoice. If you did not *specifically* have TSC-B0824-001-01 applied, you do not have the fix.

The old tape applied by the TSB, not the TSC, is not the same.

Make sure you have the TSC.
Where can I see if I had it done or not?

I’ll let her confirm, of course, but I read it as “new tape is better than old tape,” but the tuning changes after “new tape” that are then activated are yet further improvements.

It isn’t just a passive improvement, per my understanding.
This is correct. Thanks, @borski!

I checked my last service invoice in June this year and no info on this fix. I noticed my sound seems worse after this update. I do have SS pro.

Second Request: When someone receives an email from Lucid about the required adjustment to the vehicle's audio hardware, as referenced in the 2.5 release notes, would you please post any specific details provided? Thanks!

It sounds like quite a number of us, unlike me, have already received the 2.5 update, but I have yet to hear of anyone receiving this email. It sure would be helpful to know what it says.
Since it’s not safety or reliability related, I think you’ll be waiting awhile before someone responds about getting the email. It also makes sense for Lucid to space out batches of emails to smooth out the demand for this.

just updated to 2.5 and I have to say although the bass response is better, I miss the clarity and complexity of the previous SSP. The new system sounded like it was missing the depth and nuances that the previous one provided. Anyone else feel the same way?

I did have this impression last evening when I first listened after the update. I did sense a bit of reduction in sound clarity.
I was a bit overwhelmed by the new bass response ; perhaps it will just take some time to get accustomed to.

Do you have the TSC applied? If not, your experience doesn’t count yet. :P (I’m kidding, of course it does; the solution is just applying the TSC)

I also experienced similar issues today with cameras failing to load. I think this is related to Curb rash alert feature. I am planning on disabling it to see if the camera load issues go away.
It’s not the feature. There’s something wrong with your cameras. Call service.

Installing it now, how does one know if that hardware change is required without the email? Is the change adding a tape to the subwoofer? Which means the bass will sound bad.

I just called customer care and they confirmed the TSC has been applied already.
no idea if what they did is the "new tape"

Before the 2.5.0 and after 2.4.10 I had literarily zero issue with loading camera view back up/front or 360. After 2.5.0 I have a feeling when driving under 6 mph and car detects an obstacle through the carb rash alert feature there is an audible alert and camera view tries to load but it fails. I don't think this is a hardware issue or misaligned cameras. I think this is related specifically to 2.5.0. Needs more testing to determine the root cause.

I think so too. That's when I had the first problem when I was pulling up to the security scan reader at work and the camera failed error popped up.

Hundreds of us now have 2.5.0. As far as we know, you are the only one seeing these specific problems.

Certainly, the changes they made in this update could have triggered something specific that is off with your cameras. But the feature itself is not doing the same thing to most of us.

This is one of those things that is so hard about updating such a complicated suite of different software packages taking to various hardware packages. It could be something unrelated entirely that is malfunctioning. And it could signal a much larger issue with your specific car.

The reason I say call support is that they need to know these things are happening in order to to address them. Whether that be in software or hardware. You turning off the feature is not going to address what may very well be wrong somewhere much deeper in the stack. It may only hide a fundamental issue that comes back in some other form later.

I'm enjoying the SSP tone improvement but I don't think it'll satisfy those who want or already have added a sub. I am impressed by what Robert Windel was able to do with tuning, and it is leagues better now. It's clear the new sub bass boost is pushing the woofers now too, especially the fronts under the dash. I actually reduced the bass eq to just +1 click now and it sounds richer, fuller. Well done Lucid!
What you're hearing up front is the center speaker in the dashboard. I think there's a sub in there. There are also subs in each foot well in the front seats. The system sounds amazing and I loved the original SSPro.

I think I've got it now...

You gotta have the TSC,
It ain't enough, that TSB.
The early tape was not that great,
So everything won't activate.
So get the OTA AND TSC, to wit
or SSP will sound like... Well... pretty much like it sounded before!

Let me tell you how all of this could be more confusing... Oh, never mind. It can't! :)

Consider the recent HA lane change assist update, where some people had to have their cameras realigned or replaced. As far as those folks knew, their cameras were fine. The update didn’t break their cameras. It exposed an issue that wasn’t apparent because the cameras hadn’t been used in that specific way before.

Could very easily be a similar situation with Curb Rash. That’s all I’m saying.

Hi
Does anyone notice an issue when trying to enable the new curb rash feature in that it says feature not available?

I wonder whether it requires a hardware change. I have a late 2022 AGT.

You find it under settings, dream drive.

I'm curious if the sound improvements apply to the Dolby Logic sound tracks? I only listen to my Tidal Dolby Logic Playlist so I don't have the ability to adjust the eq settings when listening to Dolby. I am seeing greater sound capabilities so I know that feature is working with Dolby recordings but not sure about the increased bass????
I honestly thought a non-Atmos track that I played two days ago sounded like it was a simulated Atmos song. I heard instruments and different channels on that track that I've never heard before. By the way, this is via Tidal.
