UX 2.5 OTA Update

All owners in US and Canada with Surreal Sound Pro.
Gotcha! Thanks. I qualify for both of those, so I assume the mail is all working its way through the queue.

I had my tape replaced about 2-3 weeks ago. I hope that means my car is considered good to go for the enhanced sound

One thing I also noticed. Post 2.5, my sounds for UX button presses were turned all the way up so you may want to check levels. Mine were all over the place.

Updated yesterday and the only thing I noticed was the sound was louder. Then I got this a few hours later.
So I guess I need the hardware/TSC thing done.

Audiophiles will love our latest software release

We are currently rolling out software version 2.5 over the air (OTA) to your Lucid Air. Included in this release is the next-generation Surreal Sound Pro, providing improved bass response, more accurate music reproduction, and better system performance overall.

A minor audio hardware adjustment is required in your car to enable the next-generation Surreal Sound Pro. Please contact your preferred Lucid service center to schedule an appointment to receive the hardware update at your convenience.

In the meantime, you do not need to wait to install the latest software update when it becomes available for your car. The enhanced Surreal Sound Pro audio experience will simply wait until your vehicle adjustment is completed.

Please contact Lucid Customer Care with any questions. Thank you for being a part of the Lucid community.

Did the 2.5 update this morning and it is truly phenomenal sound. Also just received the email to make appointment for "A minor audio hardware adjustment is required in your car to enable the next-generation Surreal Sound Pro."

Received this email for those that are wondering for SSP

Just got my update on my 2024 Touring. I had called service to ask if I could get the speaker fix, and surprisingly my 1/2024 manufacturing date Touring did not need it. I didn't notice anything weird about the sound system outside of the volume being too low and bass being a bit weak. Bass is definitely better but I notice it more in non-ATMOS sound. It seems when I play ATMOS in Tidal, the volume is still a bit on the low end, enough for me to almost have to go full blast. XM and Spotify are much louder with more bass.

Installing it now, how does one know if that hardware change is required without the email? Is the change adding a tape to the subwoofer? Which means the bass will sound bad.
1) You’ll get an email *either way*, telling you whether you need the fix or are already good, or you’ll find the TSC number on a prior invoice. Many of us have already received the email.

2) The TSC is replacing a piece of tape near, not on, the woofers in the front footwells. There is a sound hole that needs covering up due to the way in which the sound travels. Trivial fix. Once that is done, 2.5.0 has completely redesigned speakers and audio tuning, that works (and is only activated) post-TSC.

*Even if* you previously had the TSB applied with a *different* piece of tape, this is not that. I know it sounds crazy, but crazier things have been discovered before; it makes a massive difference, along with the new tuning.

Everyone please read this comment, or refer to it, so we don’t end up repeating ourselves a bunch of times please. 🙏

My work order for my upcoming service visit says "TSC-B0824-001-01 Lower A-Pillar Speaker Distortion". I thought the A-pillar stops well above the front footwells, and therefore the lower A-pillar would be much closer to eye level. Not to throw more fuel on the fire of confusion, but is there a different piece of tape intended for speakers by the front footwells?

What you're hearing up front is the center speaker in the dashboard. I think there's a sub in there. There are also subs in each foot well in the front seats. The system sounds amazing and I loved the original SSPro.
There is no sub in the front. There are two footwell woofers under the A pillars. The chassis of the vehicle is carrying the bass from the woofers under the footwells into the center; I agree it sounds like there’s a sub there. There isn’t. I measured/tested it. I plan on running some frequency sweeps later.

I’m incredibly impressed with what they were able to accomplish with changing zero hardware other than just a piece of tape covering up two sound holes.

Hi
Does anyone notice an issue when trying to enable the new curb rash feature in that it says feature not available?

I wonder whether it requires a hardware change. I have a late 2022 AGT.

You find it under settings, dream drive.
Go drive the car outside in the daylight. If it doesn’t activate outside in the daylight, you have an issue.

It will be inactive, just like that, in a garage or in low light.

No hardware changes needed, assuming you don’t have anything broken.

So here's a real question, is Lucid proving an CCS1/J1772 to NACS adapter with Gravity deliveries? I'll need one for my home charger.
Everyone will need it. I would be extremely surprised if the answer to this is no. I could not use my Lucid EVSE to charge my wife’s Gravity otherwise.

Got the (your vehicle is hardware-ready) version of the email, while being in my car testing the sound system with native Tidal app, and OMG the improvement is definitely noticeable (bass and max volume), amazing job to the software and audio teams, it's worth the investment in SSP now.
I think I also noticed improvements with the steering wheel volume control response, not as fast as I'd like it to be, but faster than before for sure.
You’re right. The delay is still there, but the *gaps* between increments are larger, so it feels faster.

Mine were also all the way up after the update.
Same. Every button press was yelling at me lol

Same speakers. This refers to the two woofers in the footwells directly under the A-pillar.

As previously mentioned, I had made a mobile visit for application of the A-pillar speaker tape. When I made the appointment, I asked the agent if there were any other open issues for my vehicle, they had said no, everything else was up to date. Today, I received a Service Authorization to e-sign, and found that there were a few other items that the tech will be addressing. Hopefully they can all be done during the mobile visit.
 • TSC-M0823-002-01 Coolant 5 Port Valve
 • TSC-J0424-007-01 12V Cabin Battery Terminal
 • TSC-E0424-018-01 Wiper Linkage Interference with Main Harness
 • TSC-B0824-001-01 Lower A-Pillar Speaker Distortion

Today, I got to experience curb rush alert function for the first time. My first impression is that it needs lots of work still. I wasn't near any curbs what so ever and it came up at least twice this morning. First occurrence was backing out of the garage where my driveway meets the grass flat area. Its a narrow driveway, so I have to drive on the edge. Car thought that edge of the driveway was a "curb" and displayed warning with audible alert. Second situation was turning left on the intersection. While waiting for the light to change the 360 camera came on the double yellow line on the left was highlighted orange as I stopped close to it. I am thinking about turning off this feature until it gets improved. Seems like it doesn't take into consideration the height of the surface at all and it's more annoying than helpful.
Here is an example from my previous post that I believe curb rash alert still needs some tweaking. This is a picture of my narrow driveway meeting grass. There is no difference in height and it's perfectly flat between two surfaces. There is no way to scratch the wheels but it gives me audible alert, red highlight, and tells me to stop.
On the positive side I didn't notice any camera load issues on the most recent drive. When I was driving forward near the driveway edge the car thought it's an obstacle then gave me an audible warning but 360 camera failed to load (black screen). It only happened once so far, so maybe just one off scenario not something consistent.

Haha yeah, that sucks, I'm sorry. TSB-B1122-001-01 is the old tape; I had the same TSB performed 08/07/2023. :)

You need TSC-B0824-001-01, and once that is complete (in Lucid's tracking system), it will "unlock" the new audio system in software automatically, and you will be delighted.
So I the TSC effectively supersedes the TSB? And is this TSC intended to fix the "blown speaker" sound coming from the subs in the front footwells or something else? I am hoping this TSC fixes that issue because I definitely notice it in my car.

I just had a chat with service (my car is there now) and talked about the email that just came out about the hardware mod required for SSP. The TSC is on my ticket to be done but she mentioned that the email might have been sent out a little prematurely to owners as there is *something* the service center isn't quite ready to do for cars related to the email.

Hi. I can confirm that the TSC is indeed an improved tape-fix for the front footwell speakers (woofers, actually). The prior TSB did the same thing, but they have subsequently found a more effective tape and/or application protocol, so you have to get the TSC done, even if you have already had the TSB. That's my current situation.

It’s a v1, makes perfect sense it will need further tweaking. Make sure you give the feedback to CS!

Yes and yes.

That is incorrect. It is just the tape fix. They may be referring to “how to activate the new SSP” or similar, which is just a matter of information getting from one person to another.

I have a Touring with SSP and have noticed the bass response improve quite a bit. Does anyone know how long it takes to install the hardware upgrade in service and whether this is a DIY that can be done?

I installed 2.5 yesterday. With ADAS active I now see rear approaching traffic in adjacent lanes earlier than I remember pre 2.5. Maybe Im crazy but if not, I appreciate the undocumented improvement in situational awareness. Anyone else notice this?

Its a mobile service, no need to take the car in.
