Love the car so far, just had it wrapped. However, today I ran into some issuses after updating to 2.1.52. After the update completed I received a call from Lucid Service saying they received an alert from the battery.
I phoned them and they wanted to set up an appointment in a few weeks at the local service centre. I have a L2 charger that I use, however today the charging session would fail after 20-30 minutes.
Am I headed for disaster? Anyone experience anything like this?

The wrap job attached for those curious.

Lucid has some advanced diagnostics that alert them to possible problems before anything happens that prevents you from driving. Since we do not know what the error is, it could be minor. Worst case, Lucid will replace your HV battery and give you a loaner for the week it takes to do that.

Unrelated to the software update, unless the software update added some additional diagnostics that alerted Lucid to the battery issue. They'll likely replace the HV battery and/or Wunderbox; the reason you got a call is specifically so that they can do it before something bad happens. I wouldn't stress about it, especially if it's only a couple weeks.

Tough to hear approaching the 300 mile mark but thanks for the info. Worst part is I was really looking forward to a ~800 mile road trip vs flying next week - better safe than sorry.

Interesting tidbit - I asked via "chat with specialist" for more information, they shared;
"I see "the vehicle's median time to fault is 26.5 days. Isolation value is “Fault Imminent” “Monitor” “At Risk” level" You have exceeded the 26.5 days." I think you should talk with your local service manager"

Yeah, I totally hear you. It's never fun for this to occur, but for what it's worth, we have never seen a case in which it recurred on the same vehicle once it was fixed. (This all assumes it's the HV battery and Wunderbox, of course)

Uh, what is a 'chat with specialist'? Do you mean you texted Lucid customer care?

"the vehicle's median time to fault is 26.5 days . . .

Interesting that they said "median" instead of "mean". If this message was really from Lucid, I think the advice to talk to your local service manager should be taken seriously and soon.

My car lost its HV battery and rear drive unit while I was on the road with no prior warning. I was near home and made it in some sort of "limp mode", but it was a hairy few miles.

I got a call about this on my 2022 GT with 15k miles. They replaced the battery and I should get it back this week. It happens, and it's better than not knowing and ending up stranded.

how long you had to leave it at service?

My car is currently at the service center having the HV battery replaced after a call from Lucid. I am glad they are proactive. Hoping to get the car back on Friday with a 2-week turnaround. It had a production date of May 2022 and currently has 28k miles. It appears to me from the forum that a batch of cars in that Q2-22 time frame may have this issue.

can anyone estimate what percentage of cars manufactured have had this issue?
In any event getting a new battery is really a good deal especially if you’ve put on 2 yrs of miles

Very few. you can look back at deliveries made in Q2 2022, which I think were only 679 due to supply chain shortages.

I believe my car might be among the batch you speak of. I had my car towed from my house to Costa Mesa this past Monday. Still waiting for a loaner, which I was assured I would get by “the end of the week”, which would be tomorrow.

Your car is in for a battery replacement too? Mine was supposed to be finished today, but they had a bunch of cars needing tire replacements from the last storm. Still might be done by EOD, but need to check.

Well, my car is definitely in the same batch as yours. I am knocking on wood as I type.

Yes, that’s right. Well, actually, at this point I don’t know for sure if it’s going to be a battery replacement. Francisco is my service adviser this time around, and so far he’s doing a terrific job. I turned my car over to a tow service this past Monday, and was immediately given an auto rental voucher. I held on to the Enterprise rental until a Lucid loaner became available yesterday (Thursday), a GT in a very fetching shade of metallic grey, with 10,000 miles. The loaner was pretty nicely cleaned inside and out before being turned over to me.

When I asked Francisco how long might they need to keep the car, he believed it would be “a couple of weeks”. He also cited three different potential problem areas - the main battery, the wunderbox, or the cable that runs between the two. As of yesterday, day four at the Costa Mesa service centre, my car is “is still in queue” for the technicians to start taking a look. Could be a while.
