First and foremost, thanks to the hand-raisers that offered to be one of the first to receive UX 2.0. We’re very appreciative of your passion and are hopeful the new OS is living up to expectations.

As you know, the update consisted of several OTA updates. As of today, 2.0.24 is the latest and greatest software version. In analyzing data over the weekend, it looks like many customers have yet to accept and install some of the updates in the series.

I wanted to reach out and advise the group of the 2.0.24 version number. If you’re on it, you’re up to date. If not, check your app or pilot panel to see if there’s an OTA update waiting for you. If there is not, please call, SMS, or email our Customer Care team and they can help facilitate the push. We’ll continue to engage customers here and outside the forum to encourage them to stay up-to-date with updates.

If you are on 2.0.24, feel free to leave your thoughts and feedback here. The team won’t be responding in real-time, but know that they’re paying attention and keenly interested in your feedback.

Cheers!
Len & Team Lucid

Hi Len (@Firstto520),

First and foremost the experience on 2.0.24 (the 2 series as a whole) is leaps and bounds ahead of what we all experienced in the 1.x days. I recently did a road trip from LA to SF and was by far the smoothest experience compared to road trips in the past.

Some Quirks:

Highway Assist
  • It was raining and the system kept losing the lines (understandable) but what was annoying was the repeated messaging of Highway Assist unavailable \ available messaging. If the car lost the lines you'd get the message but 5 secs later when it found them again you got the Highway Assist available message. For a good 5 mins or so I kept getting these available \ unavailable messages within seconds.
  • Doesn't handle bends too well at higher speeds. Not sure if you can take the Audi (or others) approach where it uses the mapping data to know a bend is coming up and slows the car down a bit.

TiDAL
  • Sometimes when getting back into the car my playlist would continue on from the last song when leaving the car and other times it wouldn't. The times it wouldn't it would play the last song when leaving the car then continue on with random songs similar to the last one played
  • It would be good if a favorite button could be added to the screen to favorite and unfavorite songs easily

Navigation
  • The SOC at destination is pretty useless when needing to charge along the way. You get to a point where it says "Insufficient Range" even though the system knows you need to stop to charge. If a charging destination is added then it should use SOC to charger.
  • When you add a charging stop manually the system will still keep the charger it chose along with yours in the route even though you don't need 2 charging stops to get to your destination. There is no way to remove an auto added charging stop. You can remove manually added ones but not ones added by the system.
  • The charger availability for EA in its current form is useless. It reports on CCS plugs available not chargers available. Given EA has 2 CCS plugs per charger (one for redundancy) the system can report 7/7 available at a location that has 4 chargers. I pulled up to a location that said 3/7 available to discover all the chargers in use. The system was correct but the 3 that is was reporting as available were the 3 redundant CCS cables on each charger.

Other
  • Cameras and Surround View stopped working after a DC fast charge (coincidence maybe). 2 Valet resets didn't fix the issue. Changing to guest profile and back to my profile resolved the issue.
  • Speakers at one point became all muffled like a speaker \ sub had blown. Valet reset resolved the issue

Requests
  • With CarPlay coming (which I don't care for) it would be good if the Apple Music App (which I do care for) could be added natively to the system
  • Could we see more Plug and Charge options like adding EVGo for example given it's available with Tesla and GM cars

Something to pass to the relevant department
  • EA is a hot mess and I know this isn't Lucid's fault but all chargers I used on my road trip were power limited. I've never been able to get the speeds advertised by Lucid at EA's 350Kw chargers and more often than not the the chargers either simply don't work or are power limited now. I only got 124Kw on a 350Kw charger over the weekend and moving it to a 150Kw charger I was limited to 100Kw.
  • I'm not sure how much cash Lucid handed over to EA (if any) to offer 1,2,3 years of free charging but the network is a complete embarrassment and you should ask for your money back if you did hand money over.
  • You can see multiple threads with EA issues in this forum alone and whilst the car doesn't give people range anxiety we all get charger anxiety because you simply don't know if the chargers are going to work when you arrive

Things I'm missing that would make life much easier.
Door locks: Need a geofenced setup where if you're at home, the car can just stay unlocked. It makes things easier for kids that get to the car before you're ready to head out.
More door locks: Auto unlock the doors when putting the car into park or at least the option to do that.

Charging: Set the time to start charging or a destination time to be fully charged by. Most of us use time of day energy pricing and as of right now there's no way to plug in when you get home and have the car start charging later.

AIRPLAY (I know, working on it)

Wheels/Tires: Need the ability to change to a new TPS and wheel size. For now it requires a service call and shouldn't be something you need to roll a truck for. Those of us in cold environments need to swap in snow tires/wheels.

+1 on all items!

A lot of great improvements so far.

Here are a couple requests/issues:
1. climate doesn't remember when you leave the car
2. climate acts wonky when selecting auto and sync; need to press your desired state a couple times for it to accept
3. would be great if the car would remember heated seats or steering wheel when temperature is below x or last selected
4. great if app could activate heated seats or steering wheel
5. on the dash screen, favorites (home & work) combined with last destination occupy prime real estate that could be used better. Deleting last destination would also be good
6. slightly harder to get to music on the screen, in the event you are toggling back from spotify, to am to hopefully sirius; it is more steps than necessary

When I get out of the car at night to go into a shop but leave someone in the car, the headlights stay on no matter how long I'm gone. I have to hit the parking lights button manually for the headlights to go off. This is a particular worry, as the headlights generate a huge amount of heat with no airflow to cool them.

When I enabled HVAC remotely on 2.0.24, the driver seat heater was on when I got in the car. If would be nice to be able to directly select it, but they at least did that much.

Haven’t got my Touring yet but wanted to add a +1 to set charging times in the car. This is a ridiculous oversight for a flagship car.

It's an excellent update.

EA chargers are a continued problem. Lucid should publish information that tells us owners what EA chargers (or any public charger) have been used successfully by Lucid owners, and when these chargers have been successfully used. If the chargers do not work with our cars, that would be helpful to know also. The current state of a public charger is important information to a Lucid driver.

Charging rate information would be beneficial on the public chargers, if possible.

Group sourced information like this is one area that Lucid can use to build a competitive advantage.

My request would be a complete re think of the Home Screen. That’s prime real estate and far too many of the functions on that screen are one time setup. Or things not used that frequently.

For me, I’d like a Home Screen consisting of the following pulled from 3 different screens.

Massage Seats
AC controls there aren’t physical buttons for
Trip computer from Settings page.

Like the Tesla, I’d like a different screen to pop up when the car is put into park.

That would be the openings screen including Trunk, Frunk, glovebox.

There can be shortcuts on the Home Screen to more frequently access functions like Charging, Drive Modes, Settings.

But I mean, things like Seats, Themes, steering and mirrors, glovebox can all be buried in a few menus. No idea why they’re on the front page.

Hi Len,
Thank you so much for your post. I am over the moon about the updates and feel that I can be patient regarding fixing some of the bugs. The only exception is losing the ability to schedule a charge with chargers like a Chargepoint Home Flex. I would like to hear about the plan to reinstate this ability, as it is crucial for many of us who experience very high electricity rates before midnight. It is very inconvenient to have to wake up at midnight just to charge.

Thanks again!

Forgot one.
7. lane departure feature randomly reactivates when I have de-selected it some days

1) Need a way to be able to activate homelink buttons while backing out of a garage with 360 view activated.
2) Need a charging window function in the car (not a start time) with an "Applies only at home" checkbox.
3) Please move seats etc as soon as a profile change is made, not at the end. I can't get into my car with my wife's seat position, and seat movement never seems to start when I switch the car to my profile until I give up and go do something else for a couple minutes.

I wish Lucid had a penalty clause with EA and for every missed or bad charging session, they are required to provide a credit to use after the 3 year period or a refund which allows charge at the nearest place 50KWh.

I greatly appreciate the massive leap forward to this point. Kudos to the Lucid team and Len for allowing us to get it ahead of others. I'm still looking forward to many new features and improvements.

I agree with everything that has been discussed here but would like to see a separate audio control for the navigation system. I find the volume level to be seriously annoying as compared to the streaming apps, radio and Bluetooth music.

It's so encouraging to have a representative from Lucid on these forums. Thank you so much for your contribution, and good job with the software so far. Given the age of Lucid, you have come a LONG way.

Picking up from others, here are the items I am also passionate about (Sorry folks, I tried quoting everyone, but the forum software barfed):

With CarPlay coming (which I don't care for) it would be good if the Apple Music App (which I do care for) could be added natively to the system HECK YES!!!! Better quality than Tidal (IMO). But it MUST be native, and not via BT

Set the time to start charging or a destination time to be fully charged by. AND: something that may be unique to my setup, I need a way to set the max charging current at a given location to prevent fuses from blowing when I am charging several EVs at once

Need the ability to change to a new TPS and wheel size. +1

Climate doesn't remember when you leave the car This is frustrating. I want everything saved to my profile every time I exit (including heated seats and steering wheel), and recalled (or remembered) when I reenter. While you are at it, store the current drive mode too.

Great if app could activate heated seats or steering wheel YUP for both

Slightly harder to get to music on the screen, in the event you are toggling... I would REALLY like to have access to a full featured music app and nav app UI at the same time. I have almost crashed the car flipping between them and swiping down to the pilot. At a minimum, use the screen on the left of the speedo to display current and upcoming song

Give us AC controls there aren’t physical buttons for on the Home Screen YES
Move the Trip computer to the Home Screen. (this would free up the left panel for the current song)

Need a way to be able to activate homelink buttons while backing out of a garage with 360 view activated. YES

Please move seats etc as soon as a profile change is made, not at the end... Heck YES

In general, the Tidal App is very buggy. I know this maybe more Tidal than Lucid, but hopefully someone will fix that. An Apple Music App would be better though (separate from Car Play). Would save me $30/mo too!

I've also had issues with the phone app (reported via email).

Had problems with surround view being unavailable which has seemed to resolve itself. Side cameras still seem a little inconsistent with turn signals. Like others I would prefer ability to move functions to the various screens or eliminate some things. Primarily would like to have pull down screen operate independently of cockpit and let navigation run on one when choosing or looking at music selections on the other.

Definitely had some issues with navigation too. Not sure if it's better now since I stopped using it. Odd routings, very hard to omit or change intermediate stops. Poor range estimates. Have been relying on Google maps, ea and evgo and chargepoint apps.

I’m on 2.0.24 (car was delivered with it when picked up on Friday). A couple of glitches:

1. Highway assist has never worked. I only get adaptive cruise despite over 500 miles of mostly highway driving on major interstates. I have never seen a “highway assist available” message nor has pressing and holding the cruise button been able to activate it.
2. Heading south on I-287 this morning in bright sun, I kept getting alerts to pay attention even though I was staring at the road. I had to turn off the distracted driver warning.
