Lucid Air gets MAJOR price decreases...

yes, but it's the same concept, and either way, most cars do not offer 360 cameras on their base models.

Depends who you're talking about. Autopilot is free, Toyota, Honda, Kia, Hyundai (including the EV9) has highway assist standard yet upsells you $15k to get 360 cameras. Even Porsche charges all of $950 for their version.

Supercruise, bluecruise do charge money...but they do offer something (hands free) that the other brands do not. Lucid is not at that level. And still i think the stats are pretty damning, no one is continuing their subscriptions for supercruise and bluecruise, they're pretty bad too.

Lidar does cost money, so they could make HA work with the single camera like everyone else does, and keep the Lidar/DDP as premium feature set that differentiates them above Toyota and Kia.

That would make sense, although I don't think Lucid is the type of company to compromise. I will note, in Korea the EV9 has a LiDar option that enables level 3 driving and is extra. Therefore, if they can charge extra for that, I think 6750 for DDP with the potential for level 3 is worth it.
 
I placed an order on Friday for an air GT, today my SA called me to tell me to resubmit the order. I am leasing and the cost per month is over $100 a month less than the original order in addition to the other new incentives.

No, they won’t offer ddpro or ddpremium for free. Even Tesla doesn’t have 360 Camera. You want that, it’s very reasonable to be charged for it.

Its a rip off only if you paid for it expecting autonomy on the scale of Tesla. I paid to support the developement and have no qualms about it.

Just like Tesla doesn’t have FSD. You don’t want, don’t pay for it, simple! Hardware costs money, very reasonable to charge for it. Think all those sensors and cameras are free? Some customers like me like to future proof our vehicles. That’s why I paid for FSD as well. At least Lucid doesn’t promise that Robotaxi functionality will be here last year.

Are you saying that Tesla’s strategy of selling FSD should be followed by lucid? What Tesla is doing is stupid too, and selling vaporware in similar spirit should not become the norm.

Btw they don’t charge for hardware. They charge for software. And anyway, they charged $3k for FSD before delivering features. They actually have an FSD beta that you get for the money now. But they are actively working and releasing updates so you do see where your money is going. I had FSD beta on my last Tesla, and at least you get something for the money whether or not it’s useful.

Anyway, I already said above, Highway assist/lane keep should not be a $7k option. It’s standard on most vehicles.

360 cameras are always an up charge across all the competition so charging for it is fine.
 
In looking at current lower pricing on Lucid's site and configuring the same as my Touring, the delta is only $7500 lower with new pricing vs Old (taking $7500 tax credit). Plus I get 3 years of EA (which honestly is hard to use, but I try when I can). The new charger discount and service credits don't have any value for me. So, the drop isn't too bad in my case. Good that Lucid can lower price of entry for new customers.

Same here, we were actually scheduled to take delivery tomorow and they got in touch with us to let us know we'd save and have better incentives by reapplying.

Would love to be driving it tomorrow but it makes a lot of sense to wait. The whole process so far has been so different from any other car buying/leasing experience I've had, it's a real breath of fresh air.

You have got to be kidding me. Literally two days after we got a new car because of the price, they drop the prices 🤣 but I'm very happy for the company! Cracking the 70k border is very important and I am sure sales will increase by a lot. If this is how the new prices will be, I wonder if Gravity will follow.. in that case, Lucid will take over the world. Or maybe it was to create a gap between the Gravity or this?

No, that 360 camera/front camera that automatically comes on when close to an object complete with deadly accurate distance measurement down to 1 inch increments makes it worth the upgrade price alone. You could throw the ADAS in the toilet and it would still be worth it.

Hope they have a plan to build out more service centers and build them out fast. These price changes are going to bring in a lot of new buyers.
 
Also dare I ask my guess is our used car took a little more hit. Not that I am keeping track my Gila is to drive my car into the ground especially since it will be almost new soon.

Anyone who has a problem with it, doesn’t have to pay. Very simple. I’m more than happy to pay for it. If it doesn’t show up in 5 years, I don’t care because Lucid never gave a timeframe. It’s on me the buyer. Now if Lucid said we are almost there, possibly coming end of 2016 and still not here ( like what Musk said) I would be pissed real bad. Lucid approach is better giving option to future proof our cars for those who keep them many years.

Once Lucid establishes they will be able to divert more resources to that effort. Just give it a few years. It would be foolish to spend on autonomous driving when they have more important things to spend on- like developing SUV and midsize.
