I've got to admin I'm a little bummed that I ended up bumped to a later batch with a May 21 reservation. I'm sure it will all be worth when they finally get around to the December batch. Below is the reply I got when I asked about it.
Thank you for bringing this up and for being a Lucid customer. I have noticed this too and would like to provide some additional context.
In a perfect world, reservation date and order date are the sole factors that determine sequencing. However, this is not the case. While Order Date is an important factor, there are a number of factors that determine batching and order sequencing.
It’s also worth noting that every vehicle truly takes its own journey through manufacturing. Just because one has entered production first does not mean it will be completed first. Batching of orders, material constraints, truck availability are of the many factors that can impact when an order is confirmed for production.
Moreover, there is a lot of shuffling that can happen even after the orders have been sequenced or have started production.
These are also some of the reasons why we don’t provide specific delivery dates. However Steve, what I will do is notify you immediately when your GT has entered production. I will provide you your VIN, let you know when it has completed, and when it is ready to be shipped. Throughout the process I will ensure you are informed.
