UX 2.5 OTA Update

This is new to me. Did all 2025 models (including Pure) get a computer or processor upgrade? What is known about the types of improvement it should/could offer?
Yes. Others who have more experience with 2025 vehicles can chime in, or those with more insight, but I think so far it just makes the user interface smoother and faster to use, no major differences in terms of features etc.

I recommend watching this review of the 2025 Lucid Air, it clearly shows how smooth and fast the user interface is, because of the upgraded computers in the 2025 vehicles. This was one of the first reviews I’m aware of and there might be more by now.

I’ve never used WiFi in the car.
This is interesting to me, what with all the flaky wifi reports here and there on the forum. My home wifi could be marginal to the garage; if I don't use wifi in the car, can Bluetooth be my link between phone and car, for initiating charging, etc? (I plan to use the Lucid Mobile Charger, rather than the Home Charger, so no Ethernet option)

Do you just use the cellular connection instead? (for OTA's....and for initiating charging?)

Or do you just use an Ethernet connection to your charger, rather than a wifi connection?

Have you confirmed you had the TSC applied? What did your email say?

This sounds like you haven’t had the TSC applied.

Late update: Turns out the audio improvement TSC does indeed apply even to currently manufactured 2025 models. They did mine while it was in for issues with the door latch.

I guess they haven't fixed it on the assembly line yet.

My 2024 Pure RWD was manufactured May 2024. I received no email. I think the 2.5 update changed my audio since everything got louder and had to be dialed back. Despite that, I called support and asked if I needed the TSC anyway and they said “no, not required with manufacture date that late”. Wonder what is the truth and why I’ve STILL not received the email that should clear this up. I get slow rollouts but the confusion and opaqueness is a bit annoying.

The Air's cellular connection is sufficient for OTAs and interactions with the phone app (app interactions pass through Lucid's cloud, not directly from phone to car). Wifi isn't needed.

from everyone’s feedback it seems to me that the audio needs come of days to do calibration after the update
Something does get pushed to the car after the update but not sure if this applies to all vehicles or only the ones that needed the repair. A mobile tech came out to my place last week and did the work, pushed the request to the mothership that the job was done and then he made sure the update was pushed down to the vehicle before he left.

Hey Team Lucid Owners - Heads up - the 2.5.3 update has caused an intermittent loss of connectivity to CarPlay. Per CS, you have to remove/forget all bluetooth connections, between the phone and the car, phone and your keys - and reestablish them. Sound like fun? I hope it does not happen to you.
I am carrying a USB Cable in the car as a backup as that seemed to have worked yesterday when I had a problem and could not remedy it via Bluetooth.

Sharing a best practice: I made a Playlist in Apple Music that is all Atmos, the sound is incredible. I named it 'Lucid Demo' and it rocks with the 2.5 update.

I could be wrong, be I believe that only the native Tidal App in the car is actually able to play Atmos. That said, I agree that 2.5.0 sounds great!

Yep, that is also my understanding here. Tidal is currently the only supported option for Atmos in the car. Hopefully an update in the near future can remedy that.

The release notes said owners who needed the TSC would get an email, not everyone. What email are you waiting for? It sounds like you are all set.

I was responding to a post just before mine that said all cars with SSP, even 2025 models, still need the TSC. Customer service told me mine didn’t because of its manufacturing date. Both cannot be true. The email I am referring to is initial statements that two versions would go out - one to those needing the TSC and another to those not needing it. Someone posted versions of both emails they got as they have two Airs. I received neither. I assume I have all the audio enhancements, but I didn’t see some dramatic sound improvement to my SSP, so I wonder if I still need the fix. Hence my question.

Everything you mentioned is done via cellular. I do have an ethernet connection to my charger, but it doesn’t seem to do much. The interface is minimal and I’ve never seen a software update. The Wi-Fi connection to the charger is independent of the vehicle.

Just received the fix and SSP sounds much better to me. Well done Lucid!

So, seems none of this is quite right. Having just got my car back, here's the deets (at least in my case).

I have a recent 2025 with SSP, I did not get an email of any sort. My car went in for service for issues with door latching (which turns out to be normal, or at least known with "no fix available").

However, they did this for me while it was there, letting me know it was supposed to be done. I hadn't asked or received any email.

After I got it back, worth noting - apparently the 2025s do already have the physical fix applied (or at least mine did). But the software side of the fix does NOT get automatically applied by 2.5 updates. Apparently they have to verify the physical fix, and then manually enable the improvement in "Lucid Garage".

It is actually a very dramatic change - I can't quite say yet if it's entirely a good thing. I get what people were saying about it being too boomy. I definitely had to turn the EQ settings down to almost flat. Need more time to decide.

I do not hear the center channel focus other people mentioned though.

You're right, I totally forgot! Just loaded some Atmos m4a files to my USB drive and wow, very nice

Would you please share the source of the Atmos files you copied to your USB? I would love to hear at least a few such songs on my SSP, such as 'Big Yellow Taxi' or 'Riders on the Storm', but I don't feel the need to rejoin Tidal just to get a few. If there's a place where I could just buy some, I'd be up for that!

I think the Immersive Audio website has downloadable
.MKV Atmos files, however it does not have a big selection. I’ve only tried the demo file and while it did work you need a fast USB stick, some do not have the speeds to handle the huge Atmos files. If yours is slower you get lots of dropouts. I’m still not convinced USB is a reliable format for true Atmos file playback yet.

I’m glad others mentioned the Highway Assist stopping randomly with the red alert, this has happened to me before as well. In my car it broke adaptive cruise as well, it would be grayed out and not activate. I thought it was the 2.5 OTA but the GT loaner I have now is not on 2.5 and it also got the red alert cancel of Highway assist. I thought it was cuz I was wearing sunglasses and it thought I wasn’t paying attention but given others are experiencing this then I think it’s a larger software issue and not exclusive to the 2.5 OTA. I’m getting my car back Saturday so I’ll see what they think as they were investigating it for me among some other things.

Let us know what they say. I’ve had this happen to me twice while driving on a busy freeway. Fortunately, I quickly resumed the accelerator, but it was quite jarring.
