October OTA Feedback thread

Sorry to set you off like that. You had originally posted complaining of a problem with your key fob and I offered a possible solution since I have not encountered that problem with the phone key. Isn’t that the purpose of this board?
I’m sorry if I came across that way. I just never had a problem with the key fobs before. Lucid will fix it. I routinely don’t remember to take my my phone in the car for a short trip and I don’t like pulling it out of my pocket, and opening the app, to perform tasks, like opening the frunk. In my world, the fob is better For me.

In my case, the Mobile Key has not worked since July and has been removed and re-added several times by both me and the service tech that came out in September. He was pretty sure it would be fixed with a "firmware update", whatever that means. I can't wait to try it again once I get me car back from the body shop after the 2.0 update.

It's miles better on 2.0. Unless you have a "not a mansion" like me 😂.

The distance detection is still too generous and just walking around my house unlocks the car constantly.

As of last night. I've disabled the always on location permission from the Lucid mobile app.

But when I was out and about. Mobile Key worked wonderfully!

I had this problem in previous software versions several times due to hardware repairs they performed, like changing out some computer modules. The fix was for them to clear out old mobile key entries in the Access Control Module (ACM). In both cases they came to my home and did the work. Doing a factory reset does not fix this problem. It seems the factory reset does not clear out the ACM or WiFi entries.

Thank you, that is really good to know. I'll bring that up and hopefully that fixes it.

Not sure how this worked prior to 2.0, but I know there were old threads on similar issues, but I thought those were corrected.

Sync'ing my iPhone contacts seem to be a hit-miss situation. For some cases (definitely my favorite contacts), the names come up fine, but for a lot of others, the phone call comes up with "Unknown" even though they are "well-known". In these cases, I have to look at my phone (which is not easy when I have it plugged in) to find out who is calling (the name shows up fine on iPhone).

Any ideas?

Maybe consider doing away with the fob and going phone only? Works flawlessly now. I keep the black card in my wallet just in case but haven’t needed it yet.

I’m going to have to reframe this in my mind, and build a whole new set of neural networks. Just feels so odd to leave the house and drive around without a key fob.

Does the car sense my phone approaching, or do I have free up a hand, whip out my phone and open the Lucid app to unlock the car? I’m not home at the moment otherwise I’d be trying this out right now.

If your car has Bluetooth and location on AND have it setup as a mobile key it'll open with the phone in your pocket

After v 2.0.12 I reset the bluetooth audio and mobile key (forgetting the old connection) .. after that, I've been able to use the phone w/o need of a keyfob. That is, it works like our Tesla did .. you approach the car and the doors unlock. When you go to drive, you don't have to enter a PIN, and when you walk away, the car will lock. No need to remove the phone from your pocket/purse.

.. that said, if you need to unlock the trunk (w/o manual button) or frunk, you'll need to launch the Lucid App and open the trunk/frunk from there.

Or, just walk around to the side until the handles come out and then you can open the trunk using the exterior button.

Yup .. as I pointed out ...

"... that said, if you need to unlock the trunk (w/o manual button) ..."

;)

Indeed. My mistake.
btw, any idea how to open the frunk manually? DA never told me and can't find it in manual.

Once you have V2 there will be a button on the left most panel is the glass cockpit which will still require opening the door if you're outside but easier than reaching for the pilot panel

Thanks, but I know how to open the frunk via electronic means (left cockpit panel, pilot panel, phone app, key fob), what I can't figure out is how to manually open the frunk.

No manual button for it
