October OTA Feedback thread

If you didn't message Len to get into the expanded beta group of 100 cars, you will need to wait for it to be pushed to the rest of the fleet.
I didn’t know that was an option. Is Len in this group? I’d like to be in the beta group.

Unfortunately, it was capped at 100 and that was filled. Just know that this beta group is working hard at finding all the bugs!

New glitch: key fobs stop being recognized while driving.

I have started to have issues with the car not recognizing my key fob. It opens the door just fine when I get in the car and drive. However, when I stop, put the car into park to let someone in or out of the car, I get a “key fob not recognized” error and I have to enter my PIN before I am allowed to put it back in gear. This has happened 4 times tonight with a power cycle occurring between the first and second times it occurred.
Check to ensure key detection is on under your profile settings in the car.

I had this on my ride home yesterday while driving, but the fob was buried in my pocket, once I moved it, the message went away. I’ll see how it goes again today. And yes, key detection was turned on (I did have to toggle it back on yesterday morning even though the fob still opened the car 🤷‍♂️).

The key fob now has ability to sleep. How it does that and awakens may need to be adjusted.

True, but I also don’t believe it should be sleeping while the car is in motion if that’s the case where the car is searching for the signal it should at least wake it up so as to not trigger that message. I think I was basically sitting on the key which could’ve hindered it, no issues this morning on my drive in to work.

Yeah, if you weren’t logged in and checking for new messages when he posted the invite, you missed it. It was an open invitation for the first 100 that saw the message and were interested

Worry not, general release coming soon.

I agree, I'm just trying to think of why it works intermittently. Does fob contain accelerometer?

Not sure if Len and his team worked their magic overnight or if is something else but the very minor issues I had (i.e., charge port would not open when using the App and the satellite map view being very dark) have been fixed. I no longer have them as issues. Now, the big question is did they fix the steering wheel's lack of sensitivity during Highway Assist issue I was having. Hmmmm? I just will have to take the car out for another test drive today to find out. Len, if you and your team fixed the above issues, Thank You Very, Very Much! :) 👍

I had the same thing happen yesterday 3 times?

Any idea when the push will start for “rest of fleet”?

Despite key fob can sleep now, I would still attached it to faraday pouch to be safe.

My key fob is on a lanyard around my neck, so it is not buried anywhere.. Been using it that way since I got it. Never had the “not detected” message until 2.0.12. I have seen the message come and go away, but I have had 4 cases where I have parked to let someone in or out of the car and I have to enter the PIN before I can drive it again. Yes, key detection is on. I even have reassigned the key to my profile but that has not helped.
