However I am sure there is some color batching going on as there was for the confirmation of orders. I would expect that they would throw the 11/2 orders that have confirmed together and it sounds like they combined it with the 11/16 batch and group them by color. Any changes for someone in those groups would push that person to a later batch, but should be at the front in the next batch.

There’s probably color batching for the exterior and interior. Both are pretty involved processes.

The Santa Cruz (off white) interior seems to be the most popular so far, along with white paint (which is what I’ve ordered)
 
Perhaps they are assigning car builds by color for the first two batches. I’m in the third batch so may have to wait for lucid to run through the color palette a second time for maybe the third and fourth batch put together. Who knows at this point? Just idle speculation I know.

Got my pencils a while back, don't have a vin yet.
 
It‘s interesting that the pencils were shipped directly from Blackwing out of Stockton, CA. Which means they are following instructions on when to ship to the customer by Lucid. This suggest a milestone trigger was reached in the production process to ship small gift of appreciation to customers. Since everyone who has confirmed their order did not get pencils yet tells me there might be a different sequence order other than the original batch dates. Just need to find the common denominator.

And also since they are shipped from Stockton, those further east may take a few more days to receive them. I live in San Diego and just got them today, They could be sent once the order has entered into the production queue, but production has not yet started. Those who have received pencils a month ago are now starting to receive VINs.
 
Deciphering all these pieces( pencil sets, confirmation dates, vin assignments, batch sequence etc) reminds me of a giant game of Clue. I’m guessing Col Mustard in the drawing room with the lead pipe. All the speculation is making about as much sense at this point. I think we need more data that Lucid is just not sharing

I reserved 9/8/2020. I received my invitation to confirm 11/8/2021 and confirmed (Grey with Santa Cruz) that same day. Does that make me part of the 11/2 batch or the 11/16 batch, or is there an intermediate batch?

I believe you are in the first batch.

I'll add you to the November 3rd batch, however, I believe the first two confirmation batches are being produced together.
 
By some strange cosmic coincidence as I’m walking into my post office I get a call from my DA out of the blue telling me that lucid is still on track for the 2-4 months delivery ( I’m at 2 months now) but no other info. I walk into the post office and there is a pencil set waiting for me. Wifeys only comment was” pencils? No sharpener?”
 
Pencils came today.
All my kids (4) can draw. My wife can draw. I can't draw.
I may have these pencils a long time.
 
New and just found this forum:

Should we be putting and "Received Pencils" column in the chart? It seems that we all have a-lot riding on whether we see these pencils or not :p
