I will be polite (I am from the South), but they will know what I am not pleased with. I will not be all rainbows and lollipops. I won’t be rude either. It is not honest to not relay disappointments. I won’t berate him either. He will know presumably less than my DA.

Most likely, he will hear a comment along the lines of, “I wish communication were better as I have absolutely no clue when to expect my car even though I confirmed last mid-November”, end of comments.

I really hope my DA can identify his customer as maybe he will respond to my email.
Like @Dortreo said, a dedicated thread would be better. I've talked to reps who follow and they just don't have the time to read every thread, which is why I consolidated the other thread for feedback on the UX

so i was contacted by an Inside Delivery Advisor and was advised to fill in a Vehicle registration form. does that mean the VIN is arriving soon

Makes perfect sense. We all agree that Lucid could do much better here. Looking forward to your thoughts on the test drive and how it compares to your amazing Mustangs.

I was inspired by you mentioning setting up a test drive during a family vacation to California: My wife and I are out in LA next month, and I actually volunteered to visit my mother-in-law in Cerritos so we could fit in a test drive in Torrance. I’m getting desperate to see this car.

That's interesting - is this for your local DMV so they can register a car for you? Or did they just need your driver license?

i think both? they asked my registration address and a picture of my driver's license.

If I recall correctly, this was asked for a lot of the people when they confirmed (within the week or so). There are a few Red Mojave orders ahead of you.

Wow, volunteering to visit your mother in law...that is some major desperation.

Let’s just hope my test drive smells less like gas fumes than my Mustangs do.

I sent my DA an email a few days ago on the other subject so let’s see how he responds, if he responds.

They asked for that same information from me the day I confirmed the order last year. They must not be busy enough since they are not calling or emailing customers to give out VINs to Santa Cruz or Gray orders, so they are just doing paperwork to get their system caught up. Your VIN will come in July.

Seems like there’s three options:

  1. Make a dedicated Lucid feedback forum section
  2. Move all feedback to Reviews section
  3. Scatter feedback into whichever sub forum the feedback relates to most
I’m in favor of any of the above. Putting feedback in their dedicated sub forums seems appropriate but if Lucid reads these forums, it may be too scattered for them to see all feedback.

Let me know what you think.

Pretty much confirms the supply chain issue lies within the Santa Cruz carpeting among other delays like paint.

All helpful information and perspective. My expectation is that my early Feb AGT reservation for a Cosmos Silver, Santa Cruz, 19" wheels will not be delivered for at least six months and probably longer, but will be worth the wait. In any event, I trust that early glitches that I have read about will be substantially cured, so waiting is easy for me. FWIW, I will also order a set of the 20" wheels, which may be available in the summer.

In a way, the delay benefits us later reservation holders, so that they can tweak the software.

One concern is that with nickel prices going vertical and with ongoing chip shortages, later reservations may become much later and prices may need to increase.

I’m one of the Red/Santa Cruz AGT group and just a wee bit more nervous than I was last month that I’d get the car by this summer.

Yeah, I'm a Touring 2022 Reservation holder - so I will undoubtedly be affected by price increases if there were to be one.

Nickel prices are definitely a concern, but manufacturers buy their supplies waaaaay out and hedge against price changes. In the case of Lucid, the bigger concern would be aluminum due to how much is used in the chassis, but so far there doesn't seem to be that much effect on the market (mostly EU carmakers source parts out of UA/RU as opposed to US makers which go from SE Asia).

I think for pricing you're more than safe. Rivian made a massive epic totally horrible mistake with their pricing. Every single carmaker now realizes they absolutely cannot do that to existing reservation holders. I also think timing might be tight for your delivery window, but you'll be fine.

i fully expect that Licid will do a price increase soon. Another reason to plunk down a deposit as they will be loathe to raise the price on someone who has a reservation. you are especially safe if you have a confirmed Grand Touring order as the price has already been agreed to (benefit of no deal ships who might try to add their markup later!)
