I see many people asking about the Lucid home chargers, there is no need to buy a Lucid charger, there are plenty on Amazon for $500-$600 dollars that will work fine. W/ a 50 Amp breaker you should be able to charge 40 miles in about one hour.
The only reason one would want the Lucid Home Charger is for the bidirectional capabilities. Otherwise, the charging speed is overkill.
 
Lucid told me Friday that, as of this week, setup and inspection time after cars are received from the Casa Grande factory has been DOUBLED! Apparently they saw some comments about issues that should have been caught before delivery, and are being twice as thorough in pre-delivery. Naturally a backlog is building. I’m all in favor of top build and delivery quality in these luxury automobiles.

Yeah it’s worth the wait and economically smart, because it cost them over $1,000 to tow my car, give me a rental, then return it all just to fix a defect in the front R hood aero vent. Plus it’s probably putting unnecessary strain on the service centers.
 
That’s fine and it makes sense. I just wish they would communicate that to everyone universally rather than finding it out on here. I wonder if my DA would tell me the same thing. That has been a major problem, inconsistency in communication. I just talked to my DA on Thursday and he said nothing about this. You would think they might make something like this a priority in communication, especially for those of us with VIN’s, but still in production.

I’m fine with a delay, just tell me about it and the reason why. It is very poor customer service to find things out like this on a forum and wonder if it is true or just one DA’s attempt at diverting questions.
 
What happened to doing it right the first time? They should not have this many build issues in the factory at this time. They have been building cars for a year in the factory and building customer cars for 7-8 months. These QC issues should have been ironed out by now. It is frustrating seeing the delays continue.

Communication is the big issue. My DA won’t admit to any problems in the plant, but continues to insist that everything is fine while timelines are missed without explanation.
 
Not to be a hater but Eugene was my DA also and he was terrible. Absolutely terrible. Lied. I got an email from him about how we had a phone call about him telling me my VIN. I had no such call, have never, ever talked to him. I then called my DA because I realized that I had been assigned a VIN! My DA confirmed it. I then emailed Eugene to let him know that we never spoke and he did not respond with any thing. I switched from him in Feb after total radio silence from him for 3 mo (Dec onwards). Literally he refused to respond to any of my emails or phone calls. Honestly I would complain to Lucid about him if I knew where to complain to. I do not like to write negative things and be a "hater" but Eugene SUX. Absolutely worthless. I am not surprised that others have had bad experiences with him. To moderators, I understand this may be flagged as negative but really this individual makes buying a Lucid so much worse than it already is.

How did you get a swap? Might be helpful for others!
 
I just talked with Eugene for the first time last week. He did ask if I did or did not want the front license plate surround on the car which I thought was unusual but he also said he had heard nothing about the wheel inserts on the 21” causing scratches. At this point reading about how deceptive some DA’s can be I am just sitting back and accepting that it will happen when it happens. Getting upset over things out of one’s control does not make the situation any better or speed things up….

I'm getting electrical upgrade to put secondary circuits we'd use "when home" on the AGT. Essentials will be on a different automatic back up system. Rumor has been you'll have to provide your own transfer switch. So looking at the Ronk 5102SE, until Lucid or electrician says no.
 
Yea like I said before, IF they can do it the Lucid is worth at least 100k just as a battery backup alone. When my solar was installed, a 10kwh backup system install was going to be 12k
Good question is why are all these battery backup systems so expensive? It does seem like $1k per kWh and upwards is the going rate. Sure there is other hardware, software, and I guess some sort of cooling but an EV has all that and more. EVs can be had for $600 per kwh battery capacity… and you are getting an entire car! R&D and manufacturing costs have to be an order of magnitude higher.

Never thought about it before but this seems way off.

I couldn’t reach Eugene too sometimes in the past. I was griping about it. He called back told me he was on vacation didn’t pick up my call. But I’m happy now. Once I got my AGT, all the negativities I had all went away. 🏎💨💨💨

Rivian is having more panels alignment problems than Lucid, also they put on factory PPF and it’s having visible orange peel problems.
