I see many people asking about the Lucid home chargers, there is no need to buy a Lucid charger, there are plenty on Amazon for $500-$600 dollars that will work fine. W/ a 50 Amp breaker you should be able to charge 40 miles in about one hour.

Talked to my DA today. They are doing the very best they can in an extraordinarily challenging environment. I imagine they are bound to certain rules about what information they can give and even likely what information they can receive.
I could not get any specific information about when my VIN may be received ( although I think it may be soon) , so I just try to exercise patience. Tough times in the car industry and economy in general .
Yeah I don’t think the DAs are at the factory looking out the window at the assembly line, I’m sure much of the communication that they receive from management/factory is on a need-to-know basis, specifically because of all the rumors and speculation online and that the press vultures are always hungry to pounce on any problems, so I wouldn’t expect any crystal clear answer from a DA. It’s hard to be patient because you want the car, but it will come, and I think it’s awesome they’re slowing down some PDI things rather than delivering a messed up car. The crap that skates out of Tesla factories sometimes like wrong tires/missing USB ports/brake pads gets a LOT of press so I personally appreciate Lucid recognizing they need to do better with quality control and are trying to do something about it.

I was getting 32mi/hr straight off the 14-50 plug, good enough for me.

It's ONLY for the supposed V2H capability. And IF they can deliver on that, the value is so much better than installing a battery backup.

Yeah seriously, $15K for battery backup vs probably $1500 for Lucid reverse charger. Based on the Lucid’s massive battery I could power my house for a week off of it.

Yea like I said before, IF they can do it the Lucid is worth at least 100k just as a battery backup alone. When my solar was installed, a 10kwh backup system install was going to be 12k

So my car remains in purgatory, 10 days after arriving in Beverly Hills. There is a big QC issue going around (not sure I can get into specifics) that is delaying deliveries around the country. My car has passed PDI, but is apparently 5th in line for further inspection, so it'll likely be another week or so before it's ready. The grey delay keeps on rolling...🤔
Sorry to hear this, and it sounds like your oblique reference to "big QC issues" is something that many in the current cue for Grey VINS are going to feel. A couple of weeks ago my DA told me my VIN would be ready about now, but yesterday reported the news that he does not expect it until early June (he hopes). Obviously, we all want the QC issues dealt with prior to PDI as much as possible, and it's so much better for the company if they don't release cars that people complain about, so we just have to wait a bit more. Just sold my 2 year old Model 3 for 8k over original sticker, so at least that went well...

Yes. I think the overwhelming majority of people working at Lucid are being excellent brand ambassadors.
I have been consistently satisfied with all the conversations with my DA, recognizing the constraints he is under. I was a bit exasperated when I requested a 70 percent discount on the car and he said no.🤣🤣. It is indeed difficult to be patient when you are looking forward to something so much. It will certainly be worth it!!

In a household of two "accountants by training", out first thought was where is the damn eraser. We have no appreciation for what these pencils are or aren't. They look nice, but have been sitting in the same box on the same shelf for months.

A hat would have have been better to us follically challenged individuals and might have gotten Lucid a little free advertising. Instead, they chose to send something that does have a little connection to the "art of design", but probably won't generate any questions from those out in the public. At least with a hat, there may have been some who ask "what is Lucid".
The pencils have erasers on the end of them - they are little wedges and work extremely well.

My DA just told me the Lucid cable would do 40/hr on a 14-50...is that not so? But, you're right...I got 32 for my Tesla and it was plenty.

That is not an eraser. That is an afterthought, kinda like "just listen to SiriusXM via Bluetooth".;)

Like I said, those pencils have been sitting in the same place for months. Not sure when I got them, probably five months ago or so. On the plus side, there is a sketch of an Air inside so I have taken delivery of a car, so to speak. It is a testimonial of sorts that we are still talking about pencils instead of actual deliveries.

The issue has apparently been fixed. It affected about a week's worth of cars, so I'm guessing the supposed shutdown had something to do with the QC issue, but that is just me conjecturing.

We all want the deets!

I guess it was serious enough that they put deliveries and or production on hold for a week, but hopefully not serious enough that they could not make it right with some extended work at the Service Centers over a week's time. Bottom line, we all hope there won't be anyway to tell those vehicles impacted from those vehicles not impacted and that Lucid will learn from it and improve their processes moving forward.

As anxious as I am to finally get my car delivered, I want it delivered in as flawless a condition as possible.

Agree 100%. As much as I want my car yesterday, I want them to get it right so it doesn't have to go right back to them to fix multiple issues.

That being said, I'm supposed to be dropping it off next Friday afternoon for PPF, so they only have so much time to get it right...

Perhaps I am at the end of Lucid's succession of reasons that my car is delayed. So 2-4 months will end up being 5.+ months. I will get the car finally, but I really don't care anymore. I originally ordered a Silver Tahoe, but switched early to a Red Santa Cruz to get delivery sooner. I then realized that the Santa Cruz offering was done by an interior designer that did not understand "Why you don't get white carpeting". I switched back to the Tahoe interior. Some weeks later my DA, Eugene informed me that the car I wanted was refused by a customer in Chicago. I said I would take it. Well, my DA never turned in my change to Tahoe, and I am getting what to me is the undesirable Santa Cruz interior in red. I realized at some point that my order had not been changed to my specs. My DA was unhelpful and mostly concerned that it was not his fault. Again, I get the car Monday, but I don't really want the car. If I could go back in time, I would have made sure my DA paid attention to my emails, or asked for a change in DA.

It's really unfortunate to hear that, but I asked earlier and didn't get a response, did they change your car after your purchase order and not issue you a new one? Or was that something that wasn't done? Did you pay for the car using the purchase order with the interior you are getting or the one you wanted? Either way, there was a miscommunication somewhere.

I finally accepted the car as it was on the way to me... Or so Eugene told me. It turned out not to be true. The car was still sitting in Chicago, but I believed them, and it is true, I could have stopped it as recently as Monday. So that part is on me.
