My bass is excellent at zero. However after testing multiple Atmos tracks there is absolutely something wrong with how they are handling the center channel. My friend mixed this track in Atmos which is a full double bass and he set up the mics specifically to feature the center channel to sound like you’re right in front of the bass getting the entire frequency range the instrument can do, while using all the other channels for room/reverb. Prior to this update it sounded fantastic, now there is almost no bottom end, supporting my point that they messed up the crossover for the center channel.

It almost sounds to me like what is happening is a band pass filter is being applie to the center channel instead of a high pass filter. A high pass filters allow frequencies above a certain limit to pass through, so they could split out the low frequencies to the footwell woofers, but a band pass filter creates a bell curve cutting off highs and lows to favor mids with a sharp peak in the 2-5khz range usually. What makes me think this is how unbearable certain tracks sound in Atmos now with featured center channel vocals, such as REMs Try Not To Breath. Michael Stipes voice is very ill suited to enhancing those mid range frequencies.

I hope the team working on it can fix it. INXS Mediate now also sounds so harsh in the center channel I have to turn it off. So the bass is great now for me, non-Atmos tracks are mostly great (although I do notice some phase cancellation moving my head closer to the center of the car), but the center channel for Dolby Atmos tracks is not right.
