UX 2.5 OTA Update

It depends on the track. Overall I think it’s awesome, no doubt the bass is fuller and extends lower, in fact all the audio “jumps out” from the speakers more. A great example is this Leonard Cohen track, You Want It Darker, it was mixed to hype the bottom end of his voice and before you’d lose that with the bass, but now the low end is clear and assertive for both his voice and the bass. https://tidal.com/track/66024824?u

The problems I’m hearing are more in the mid 3-5khx range of some tracks, like I love this Star Wars metal cover band Galactic Empire, but because of right where the guitar is in the spectrum, there’s some definite harshness in that range that makes me want to turn it off. https://tidal.com/track/69549377?u

Over all I think the update is a big improvement, can’t complain about bass anymore our loudness and I do think the sound field overall is more forward, but I think they need to reassess what this fix is doing to the center channel for Atmos tracks as it’s not correct, and the mid range needs a little adjustment for stereo tracks.

Definitely enjoying listening to anything non-Atmos and some Atmos still sounds good. A few more software modifications and we will all reach audio nirvana.

I should add that I noticed with this audio system update the discreet directionality of cross traffic alerts now works much better, like if a car is approaching from the right rear of the car it’s very clearly only the right rear surround playing the alert, it really makes a difference. Before my car was less directional, I think it played all the back speakers for those alerts. And now I can finally hear my turn signal, it was barely audible at highway speeds or with the music before. So at least for this audio system update I’ve experienced dramatic changes, mostly for the better.
I need to try this out now!

Before they enable the cross traffic alerts (like about 3 years ago), there was a bug in the system where the alerts would still happen occasionally. At that time the directionality was very clear and evident. After cross traffic alerts were enabled they were still somewhat directional, but it seemed they had toned them down a bit. As time progressed I paid less attention to the directionality of the alerts - possibly due to them not being as directional.

Anyone having issue with surround view since this update? I used surround view yesterday and today and it does not load despite restarting the car.
I'm on the latest update....

This just happened to my 2025 AGT. Tried both reboots -- did not fix it. Called customer care/they are sending a ticket to my service center.

... and two more weird anomalies:
1. The ambient lighting now follows theme controls... except for the overhead "spine" which is now always on in white-ish. Not cured with both reboots.
2. Car unlocks with my mobile key. I'm driving along and get a left screen message "Key not recognized - be sure to have a key in the vehicle"... of course my phone is my key and it is in the vehicle. Alert stays on for about a minute then it's gone. Happened twice today.

1. 2.5.x should fix
2. Mine too. Ignore.

I let my local SC know about it, then it somehow resolved itself. However, 2 or 3 times I've heard it revert to the original bad-sounding audio that I first had, but it keeps resolving itself the next time I get in the car. Something like that could be impossible for them to ID, and I don't really want to leave my car with them for like a week or two to try and figure it out. Hopefully it's software, not hardware.

I've found that when this happens, opening the Lucid app or bringing it to focus resolves this quickly.

Wonderful! I would agree with Bunny concerning the center channels limited range. If you listen to The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess in ATMOS almost all of it sounds harsh and it is mostly the center channel that is adding to the harshness.

Is it specific songs you are experiencing this with?

It would be with any song and from both USB and CarPlay. I posted an example before, and just heard another good one where it can be really obvious. Automatic by Less Than Jake, or even Say it Ain’t So by Weezer. At quiet volumes they’re fine. Once you get up to moderate to loud (which doesn’t take much) the guitar becomes overwhelmingly loud and it’s mostly from the pillar speakers. It seems like nothing else escalates in volume as much as that distorted guitar (or the guitar increases way more than it’s supposed to)

Thanks. Do you hear this consistently when you listen to one of those tracks on the music sources you've indicated?

Links may be good as there can be multiple tracks of the same song.

For the first 4-5 days after the update it was bad every single time (every song on any source). Then out of nowhere, the system started sounding great and stayed consistent for a week. Over the past weekend I just had two drives where things sounded bad again. Right now it’s been good for a few days straight

If you don't mind, DM me the date/time if it happens again, along with any other pertinent details, such as the music source you are listening to.

I've been occasionally receiving a "driver's door open" alert on my Lucid app after parking, which I assumed to be an error, and then the other day as I approached the car I noticed that that driver's door handle was indeed in the open position while all other handles were closed. Anyone else have this issue? Not sure why it's only happening randomly.

Could be that your door mechanism needs adjustment. Best to contact service.
