UX 2.5 OTA Update

So for those that don’t like the audio update, complaints seem largely isolated to Atmos tracks. I’ll have to listen more to the Atmos tracks I’ve got. I will say, listening to SXM and non-Atmos audio, the sound is improved to my ears.
It's not just Atmos tracks. The very first thing I listened to after the update actually sounded better, and it was an instrumental piece, but after that I found that things are generally worse, especially if they have vocals. If anybody thinks this sounds better, then I invite Lucid to add a switch to allow people to enable it. But for the rest of us, let us turn off whatever changes there were.

I had the service rep come to my home and install the tape fix. He then plugged in his computer and set the flag in the software to activate the new feature. He even showed me as he did it, the old flag being AU1 and new flag being AU3. He said the new setting fully activates the amplifier. My audio was fully upgraded when he left.
Give us a toggle in the settings to choose between AU1 and AU3, and the problem is solved, unless there's some other problem that started manifesting itself on some vehicles after the update that can be fixed.

Like the 80's "Bass Boost" button ...

I’ll jump in as well.
I have been a card carrying audiophile for over 30 years. I have SS pro. I thought the sound prior to 2.5 was reasonably well balanced. Bass may have been a bit light. After 2.5, the bass is simply not accurate. The bass is so overblown that it muddies the midrange. Hopefully, Lucid will have some experienced listeners participate in their future audio modifications.

What makes you think that? The anecdotal evidence says the opposite, every update breaks something else. Sure, not on all cars and/or not all owners care equally, but the truth is that since I got the car back in Jul 2024, there wasn't ONE update that didn't break existing features. I think their QA is poor to non-existent so I wouldn't be surprised if they left it up to an engineer to do a +10 bass boost and push it into production.

I don't expect Lucid to get it up to audiophile quality. A good audiophile system costs as much as or more than the car. But it would be nice if they went for accuracy. If people really want to play around with tone controls, that's fine. Lucid can add as many controls and adjustments as they want. But the default setting, center on everything, should be the most accurate and best sounding setting. If people find themselves needing to move tone controls in general, then something is wrong. The navigation voice should sound like a person, and the turn signal should sound like an actual mechanical blinker. If they can't get that right, they aren't going to get music right.

I wrote this to one of the Lucid reps. Not sure it will matter much. Just my two cents.

Hi, I was wondering if you can pass this along to the powers that be. I am completely happy with the Surreal Sound Pro. I bought my Lucid a year ago. I have dialed the system in perfectly for my taste. I only stream Vinyl wav rips (direct from my tube preamp) thru a thumb drive. The system has the right amount of bass for me and the correct mids. Therefore I have avoided getting the recent UX2.5 update. I don't need thump for hip hop or to shake my car with bass response. I already cut the bass with my EQ. I prefer a natural bass . Is there a way I can skip this update and continue to enjoy the system the way it is and what i am used too? Please let me know. Thanks. David
The answer to this is a definite no. There simply is not a way for you to skip an update, especially as it is unclear when a new update will 'fix' any of the sound issues people are having. Rest assured they are listening and working on it, as discussed in this thread, but please install the update. It is a bad idea to fall too far behind.

Pre 2.5, Atmos was as close to true audiophile quality as possible, in my opinion. In a car system, I don’t see how it could get much better. I think most non Atmos tracks sound good with 2.5 but I do have to turn the bass and volume on occasional. They just need to modify that center speaker for Atmos tracks, because it can very very very harsh. They will get there.

was it late afternoon and low lighting? The curb Rash alert feature not available
“NOTE: Curb Rash Alert is automatically deactivated at night or in low light conditions.”
Bummer. I understand the technical reasons but low lights feels like exactly the time one would need the warning.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned — I haven’t been on this thread in a few weeks — but since 2.5, has anyone else had issues with the track back/track forward buttons on the steering wheel? The track back button on the left now advances to the next song or station. And sometimes they don’t work at all 🤷‍♂️

Turn the bass down. I have mine at 0 now too. Also play with the balance setting. I moved it a little towards the back of the car, which made everything sound better.
I’ll turn my base down. I usually always have the balance slightly in the back. I feel like it sounds better too.

We need to have a San Diego get together and listen to each other’s systems… See if there’s any differences
Definitely

Any one having issues with camera since update, i have camera error after driving a bit and that goes only after i lock and wait and unlock the car. This is happening very frequently to me, my mobile tech says this is a software bug and he have no info on when this will be fixed.

Yes, lots of people are seeing, including me, and yes it is a software bug.

Did you notice the balance resetting itself to default, every time you start the car? Mine does that. It only loads my custom setting if I tap into the balance settings on the screen, otherwise it completely ignores it. It exists in superposition, like Schroder's cat, until I look at it.

This is linked to the new curb rash feature in the 2.5.0 update. I got multiple crashes per day so I simply turned the curb rash feature off until the bug is fixed.

I got that error multiple times. Mostly when I drive into my garage which is a tight spot.

Is it specific songs you are experiencing this with?
I think my wife has been experiencing this often on a secondary profile, not the main one (eg. mine). For the first time, I experienced this on my profile.

To be precise, the audio degraded into a static type feedback into the song. This reminded me of listening to a radio station at the edge of its transmission radius. When I paused the track, the issue went away.

This was experienced today at 1620 CT for Tidal, non-atmos track, Bruises by Mindme and Cleo Kelley: https://tidal.com/track/106290268?u

After I paused for approximately 1 minute, the track returned back to normal except for a brief blip of the static type response at 1622 CT for a 1-2 seconds.
