It might help to take a couple more pics from different angles, especially from behind the car. I am not one to tell you one way or another as I do not have a car to compare it to. I just think others that might opine would benefit from different views.
This photo caused me to take a walk in my office parking lot and every car I saw had that gap. Here is a Mercedes, which probably had the tightest gap of the 20 + cars I looked at.

Lately I think I’m spending too much time on this forum and becoming concerned with things of little to no consequence.

Do not listen to the voices. Walk towards the light!

I don’t know if that’s standard but that’s the maximum they allow. Given how they leak tested my car I think it’s more than just dropping water on top. Here’s my service record when they were doing a leak test, they seem to take the task of making sure there are no leaks very seriously:

"No plan ever survives first contact with the enemy."

I think this basically boils down to "making cars is hard." Elon certainly learned that the hard way. And Tesla's quality is still very questionable. I don't think anyone is going to get everything perfect on a brand new luxury car in a brand new factory.

I'd be a lot more worried if they hadn't already shuffled around execs on quality assurance, and if they just ignored these production problems completely in favor of pushing cars out the door.
Well said.

Is the trunk lock open or closed in this photo?
Closed. Saw this at a dealer today I can see my gap looks bigger. But I suppose it passed the water test due to the huge trim they add. Will give reporting it a serious thought next week once I have the car back from PPF.

My tint is getting done tomorrow - I know you wanted to look mine over after the tint was done so you could see the PPF and tint. You’re more than welcome to!
I’m looking forward to it! However, I can’t be held responsible if for some reason your car happens to disappear during my visit. It would be completely coincidental. Lol

I assume it’s to minimize chance of fingers getting crushed (except for those with fat fingers)

Did you tint the windshield? Please post some photos when you get it back?

I wonder, is it possible to tint the entire glass roof front to the middle beam? Otherwise, where would the tint stop? Seems it would be a rough edge end it anywhere.

It is possible. Tint shops can do 1 large piece

Yes. This is what I did. Costs more though.

I did decide to tint the windshield! Everything comes out to $1275 and I get it back today. That’s for XPEL XR+ all around.
That seems like a great price including the windshield!

I lied. They called me after and said it’s going to be more haha, I’ll let you know the final number. They said “your windshield is by far the tallest windshield we have seen.” First lucid, but they do a lot of Model X’s and they said this will use as much film as an entire car.

Full car tint with 3M Crystalline was $1500 for me, 1275 would have been great!

Definitely looks like more cars, both in the middle lot and covered, as well as just outside the factory.
