2025 Lucid Air Touring
Hi folks,

I picked up a Lucid AT last month and overall am really enjoying this car. It's simply been the best vehicle experience I've ever had! I have been wondering if DreamDrive premium has the view where you can see other vehicles nearby via the various cameras, or is this only available in DreamDrive Pro?

No, but the point is well-taken that Lucid could implement a cameras-only approach for those cars built that do not have LIDAR.

DreamDrive Premium has fewer cameras, not just a lack of LiDAR.

Seems simpler to look out the window.

I don't see the benefit in seeing what the car sees around it with no additional ADAS capability, but if they can get the camera based system to work with Lane centering for example - it can be useful then. I'm super annoyed that my sales advisor only recommended Premium an not Pro. But then my FOMO is alleviated somewhat because I've seen reviews on DDP lane centering that show it in poor light.

True, but in heavy traffic it's helpful to see if there is an opening in another lane without having to check all the blind spots and loose the opportunity. More of a nice convenience for certain. I tried this in a Tesla Model Y and it was a nice feature.

That sort of thing is exactly why there shouldn't be such a display at all times. It can't see all the vehicles and obstacles around. It doesn't even claim to. Please, do not rely on that display, not in any car. At best it is one extra safety feature to check in addition to your windows and mirrors and blind spot indicators, at worst it is just a horrendous distraction. I don't know how you can possibly make a lane change more safely using that display unless you are otherwise paying zero attention to the world around you.

Agreed that it doesn't replace the usual safety and driving recommendations. As I mentioned earlier, it's a convenience, not a replacement for safe driving. I'd argue that like other conveniences (like the backup camera or the warning lamp on the side view mirrors if there is an obstruction) can be useful for additional feedback. I don't find them a distraction, just additional helpful information.

The car is so low to the ground that I can't tell whether the person in front of me is stopped just to annoy me, or if there is s a problem. I would like a mini-drone which hovers a 6 feet above the car to display the traffic ahead.

I already use my own drones for this but would like the drone camera feed to be displayed on the center screen.
