Fifteen days ago I finally pulled the trigger on a Fathom Blue 2025 GT. I'm going to start by saying that the car looks amazing. This is by far the best looking car I've owned. I have Santa Cruz interior, the glass canopy with stealth package and 20" wheels. I want to add that I do think that Fathom Blue looks more grey to me. As far as comfort is concerned, there are absolutely no complaints here. I'm 6'2", 190 pounds and after manipulating the many available seat adjustments, the cockpit is extremely comfortable. My wife and kids enjoy the comfort as well. When it comes to the driving capability, I'm an extremely aggressive driver and this car definitely meets all of the challenges. It handles well, it's smooth and the power is there when I need it. Looks, comfort and handling are things I love about this luxury vehicle.

Things that need major improvement. The software glitches have to be worked out. I woke up a couple of days ago and the car lost connectivity to my wifi and app. The car no longer recognizes any nearby networks. The app is no longer able to connect to the car and after performing all of the resets except the full factory reset, the problem persists. Before that, I believed that the lag in communication between the app and car was significant. The rear panel flat out has a mind of its own. It can't be controlled. It comes on when it wants to, and it shuts off at will. The cameras are grainy and this is more noticeable at night. The service can also be improved. A luxury car has to also come with a luxury experience. I won't get into details but after many calls attempting to have center disks and lug nut covers delivered, I've decided tp make the drive to the service center.

Things that I believe are lacking. My cousin owns a S model and he is the impetus for my in depth delve into EV's. My wife owns a Rivian R1S that I know very well and is the basis of most of my EV technology comparisons. My wife is able to create a climate control schedule from the Rivian app. She leaves for work the same time every morning and leaves work for home pretty much the same time so the car is already programmed to be climate controlled when she enters. The Rivian has a feature called Gear Guard. Anyone who comes within a certain distance of the car when it is parked is recorded by the cameras. From the app, you can also see what's going on around your parked car in real time. When my wife has to schedule service she can do it from her app and within 24 hours she's receives both a phone call and a text message from a service person. She can choose what form of communication, text or phone call she prefers for future correspondence. This is definitely nitpicking but the point I"m making with this last comment is that Rivian is thinking about the big and small things. The R1S' charging port doesn't lock the charger in the port when she charges at home. The car recognizes she's at home.

With all that said, I love driving this car and will keep it.

Congratulations on your air! I have one in zenith red and love it. Best driving car for me ever!

Did the connectivity issues get resolved? It sounds like the TCU needs to be restarted. I had the same issue few weeks also and no resets we can perform would work. It is a 5 minutes job a Lucid tech to reset - they basically will physically power cycle the TCU. In my 5 months of ownership, this had to be done once. It is easy to get to but owners are not supposed to do it - only tech should.

Lucid has a sentry mode for dash can recording on the roadmap for air and it is already a listed feature for gravity. It is coming.

Thanks. This is very helpful info. I'm driving to the Service Center to pick up the disks and caps. I was gonna place a service ticket as well. This info will at least allow me to point them in the right direction.

Zenith Red was actually my first choice and is a beautiful color. Thanks again for the advice.

Let us know how it goes. I have seen tech doing TCU restart practically with his eyes closed 😊 should be very quick.

Need to reboot the TCU. Will take them a minute.

What rear panel? If you mean the rear sunshade, it automatically lowers when you’re in reverse, and will raise again when you’re back in drive.

For what it’s worth, you can do this with Home Assistant. Part of why I love it is I can automate things without having to wait for Lucid.

But yes, in terms of sheer “number of software features” Lucid is not #1, yet

What Tesla calls “sentry mode.” Lucid has announced this will be available for Gravity. Many of us are hopeful it comes downstream to Air.

You can schedule service from the app as well. If you can’t in your market yet, that’s because they don’t have the capacity yet.

But the feature exists.

I should've been more detailed regarding the rear panel. I meant the small rear screen that the rear passengers would use for climate control.

I will definitely try the Home Assist for scheduling.

Lucid's version of Sentry mode would be a nice to have. One would think that if it's available for the Gravity, it shouldn't be too long before we have it.

I have a service appointment scheduled in two weeks. Unfortunately, I was told it couldn't be a mobile service because they want to do a diagnostic. I will definitely keep you posted.

The rear screen will only work while someone is sitting back there. If there is no weight on the presence sensors, the screen will turn off.

My children were back there when it happened. The heaviest one is 85 pounds and the lightest is 72 pounds. Would you happen to know if there is a sensor in the middle seat?

No idea if there’s a sensor in the middle seat.

I can tell you that the front passenger airbag sensor is 52lbs according to the manual, but that assumes you’re not leaning on the armrest or otherwise taking weight off the sensor.

  • NOTE: You can lock access to the rear display by navigating to Settings > Pilot Displays on the Pilot Panel.
Might want to double check that too.

Yes there is but it's dead center. All the seats are dead center of the seat and if the kids are moving around it'll engage and disengage the sensor all the time.

That could have been the issue. I was parked and we were investigating all the features of the car. They were definitely moving around back there.
I initially thought the screen had a touch sensor.

If you're using an iPhone you can create a timed shortcut to switch on the climate control when you need it.

The weirdest thing happened. I just got the 2.5.0 OTA update and the car is now connected. I'm still going to keep my service appointment scheduled for next week.
