It’s a bummer they removed surround view monitoring from dreamdrive. My old 60k Audi had it. I don’t want to spend 9k to add it.
Seems like they needed some differentiator between the two variants other than "hardware that does nothing but might do something in the future".

Lucid if you’re reading this, lower the cost of Dream Drive Pro hardware and just charge us more when it’s actually out, thanks.

On the configurator, it Looks like if you are ordering a base touring they will deprioritize, as the base will not be available until ‘Q4’ when the Air Pure is available. When they confirm the orders, those customers not wanting to upgrade features will likely be pushed down the line. My guess if you configured your reservation without options, you won’t be asked to confirm until Q4. If asked to confirm and you want to confirm the base Touring, they will tell you it won’t be available until Q4 at the earliest.

I just went in to my reservation to see the updates....here is photo:

I use surround view all the time on my DD. I am not sure I want to spend silly Tesla like money on a feature (dream Drive Pro) whose features may never actualize (except for surround view) just to get surround view which I consider essential. Makes the decision making harder if Lucid continues to put that only into Pro.

Is this surround view the parking camera thing or is it something else?

Description says surround view monitoring, not sure if it’s just for parking.

Yea, probably needs a little more clarification before we all get out our pitchforks

At first I thought it made sense from a manufacturing simplicity viewpoint to have the Touring with GT options go first but then I saw that it didn't matter if you chose regular DD vs DD Pro. That would be a variance in what is installed or not installed. So metal roof (and/or installation process) and the head unit/speakers for the base sound system either aren't available until Q4 or Lucid just wants the most profitable versions to go first. Am PO'ed :mad::mad: that choosing the base surreal sound will delay delivery to Q4.

My guess is just more profitable stuff to be sold first because it makes the most sense for the company

I think you also have to consider that the metal roof and normal sound system would be brand new items that they probably don't have lying around from Grand Tourings and Dreams (similar to gray and silver exterior colors). So it may take a little longer to stock pile those pieces vs continue to use the items that they had in the GT/DEs (glass canopy, surreal sound system).

Possibly also simplifying assembly. A Touring with Surreal Sound Pro and glass roof is less different from a GT than metal roof and no extra speakers. I hope that my unwillingness to buy DD Pro doesn't delay me too much...

Despite being an after-market option, Tesla prioritizes orders with Full Self-Driving option for delivery. I hope Lucid doesn't take a page out of that playbook.
Me too, but I can't blame Lucid for prioritizing customers who pay more. Regardless, their website now says "Q3 availability" for my build without DD Pro.

Yeah, I'm surprised DD Pro doesn't effect that because it is actual physical additions you need at the time of purchase.

It depends on when they "make it effective". But, from my understanding, if they pass it this year, it would impact vehicles impacted this year. If they passed it and said it would go effective in 2023, then you would not be impacted. But I think the default is that it would impact 2022.
If passed on the last day of 2022, wouldn't that mean the expanded EV tax credits for less expensive EVs are essentially retroactive?

Also is Q3 availability means available to order in Q3 with deliveries after 2-4 months or Q3 delivery?
