UX 2.5 OTA Update

I land in a few hours and will try UX 2.5 more robust SSP on the way home! 😁

I was pleasantly surprised to see 2.5 update being available this morning. Usually I am receiving update notifications much later than announced. SSP improvements are welcome. I was hoping that Android Auto will show up in the next iteration. There are still several Thursdays left in 2024. I don't have the front woofers fix applied yet and also my rear parcel shelf rattles (still after service center attempted a fix). I wonder how is it going to sound with more bass now. Installing now as I type.
You won’t get the full effect until after the front tape TSC is applied.

To be clear, did every Air delivered up through a certain point this year require the fix? Or just some? Or do we know?

Tom, it's not clear on this but since our cars were manufactured around the same time, mine needed it yours will likely need it too. Call Dana at KOP she should be able to tell you.

@moytoyx Mike yours as well.

Anyone in the forum received 2.5, i see my car uploading lots of MB but no download yet.
I got it but it failed. :(

Perfect! Thanks.
Also of note: This can be done by mobile service, depending on where you are located. So you may not have to bring the car in.

Three more weeks for end of fall 😜
Keep in mind Android Auto release is dependent on approval from Google. So the exact release date may be out of Lucid's hands. I do hope it will come before year's end, though.

Updating now on my 2022 Air GT

Dana tells me my car does need it so I scheduled an appointment. Turns out there are a couple other campaign fixes it needs as well, so all the better. Thanks!

Every single vehicle. If you have not had the TSC performed *very* recently, you need it. Even if you had the tape replaced in a prior service; this is different tape. And it makes a huge difference.

The TSC number is TSC-B0824-001-01.

(for the future: a TSB is a “if the customer complains about and/or we see this issue, here’s how to fix it,” and a TSC is “the next time we see the car for any reason, at all, apply this fix if it has not been yet.”)

I wouldn't be surprised if it's already there in 2.5 but in disabled status waiting official Google certification. Hopefully Google will turn around quickly and have it certified before years end.

It's not clear to me how that works. I understand that they control the release cycle, and control when a given release comes out. I also understand that they work with manufacturers with respect to integration. Clearly, a manufacturer can't send out a new release of Android Auto that Google hasn't approved, but to me, the lines are still blurry. Perhaps somebody else can elaborate. If Lucid pushes a current (approved) release of Android Auto, and they have customized the user interface to the extent necessary, and it's been approved by Google, then does Google get involved with software updates that don't change the underlying core version of Android Auto? For example, I can see Google having say in whether Lucid could send an upgrade from Android Automotive 13.2 to Android Automotive 14. But are a manufacturer's hands tied with respect to updates that don't change an underlying release or version level?

Also, there are objective and subjective issues with any release. Is Google concerned more with a "this works" checklist item by item, or do they get into other issues? I've seen implementations that I wouldn't consider very good, but that were compliant.

Thanks for explaining TSB vs TSC. Good to know.

Thank you Michael. I just checked my last work order from Sept 11 and it was included.

Thanks. I just called support to get in the service queue for this update.

So, would you please correct me if I'm wrong, @borski?

I had the following completed on 08/01/24:

TSB-B1122-001-01
Cause: The fabric tape covering up the holes on the body are acting like a speaker diaphragm.
Corrections: Remove the fabric tape from the body and replace it with a low-density butyl pad.

I think you are saying that, while the above TSB was completed, and while it improved the bass response significantly, TSC-B0824-001-01 should be completed anyway, as it is an even more effective fix. Or, stated in other words, it's not just an update of the same fix from TSB to TSC status. It's also a better fix.

Sorry for getting into the weeds on this...

Looks like the same fix to me. You just got the bulletin version and most will now get the automatic version via the TSC.

Depending on when the TSB was done, it may or may not have the correct/new tape. Even if the TSB was done, Lucid needs to document the correct fix and set TSC as complete so that you get the audio tuning in 2.5.0.
