UX 2.5 OTA Update

Newbie question: How is a UX OTA different from the usual software OTA and what does UX stand for?
User experience. I’m hoping there will be improvements adapted from the Gravity software, which I tested in a prototype vehicle and is significantly different than the Air. The timing of this release along with tomorrow’s Gravity orders makes sense to align both softwares

Newbie question: How is a UX OTA different from the usual software OTA and what does UX stand for?
This is just another OTA, with enhancements of the multiple systems, hence the change from 2.4.x to 2.5. Nice features, but nothing earth shattering. UX 3.0 will be the big change, like 2.0 was when we had been on 1.x.

Anyone in the forum received 2.5, i see my car uploading lots of MB but no download yet.

2.5.0- 11/6/2024 (32)

DreamDrive Pro
•New feature: Curb Rash Alert notifies you if there is a risk of scraping a wheel against a curb.
NOTE: While driving below 6 mph (10km/h), this feature provides distance information, highlights the wheel’s predicted path, and sounds an audible alert if there is a risk of scraping a wheel on a curb. You are still responsible for steering and applying brakes.
NOTE: Curb Rash Alert is automatically deactivated at night or in low light conditions.
NOTE: Curb Rash Alert does not trigger any braking intervention. The driver is responsible to monitor the surroundings and react to avoid damage.
NOTE: Curb Rash Alert may not detect all curbs or other obstacles that can scrape your tires, and should not be relied upon completely to avoid tire and wheel damage. Refer to your Owner's Manual for additional information.

Navigation
•The system now displays traffic lights and stop sign indicators on the map when a route is active. NOTE: The vehicle requires a stable cellular connection for this feature to function.
•The icon to mute or unmute the navigation instructions is now always visible, allowing you to easily check the status.
•We have simplified the audio instructions for navigation situations where the next step is simply to continue when a road changes name, or instructions to join a highway at the end of a highway on-ramp.

Charging
•We improved the reliability of the Electrify America Plug&Charge user experience.
•We improved the scheduled charging function so that it no longer needs to be re-selected if the vehicle is unplugged and plugged in again before a scheduled session starts.

Sound System Enhancements
•Low listening-level sound quality improvement.
•Improvements to the volume adjustment controls so it is easier to adjust exactly the way you like.
•Next Generation Surreal Sound Pro Premium Audio System: On equipped vehicles, you can now enjoy improved bass response, more accurate music reproduction, and better system performance overall, thanks to our biggest Surreal Sound Pro system update yet.
NOTE: For some vehicles, a minor adjustment to the vehicle's audio hardware is required to activate the next-generation Surreal Sound Pro. We are offering this upgrade free of charge. You should receive an email with more information about whether your vehicle should be scheduled for a brief service appointment. If you still have questions, contact Lucid Customer Care.

Additional Enhancements
•Lucid Assistant now recognizes German.
•Regenerative braking now includes an "Off" setting, which will default back to "Standard" when the vehicle restarts.
•The power-closing function for the trunk is now smoother.

New Features for Canadian Customers with DreamDrive Pro
•Lane Change Assist
This feature enables automated lane changes when Highway Assist is active. When a dashed line appears adjacent to the lane of travel on the display, briefly hold the turn signal lever to activate and the lane change will be automatically completed in the direction of the turn signal.
Lane Change Assist can be disabled in the DreamDrive menu within Settings.
Before the first use, Lane Change Assist requires a period of driving in the middle lane on a multi-lane highway before it can be activated, for calibration purposes. The calibration is complete when a dashed line appears between lanes.
NOTE: Lane Change Assist is a driver assistance feature. You are responsible for the driving task, including ensuring that it is safe to change lanes prior to doing so and monitoring the surrounding traffic throughout the lane change maneuver.

•Active Curve Speed Control
This feature detects the road's curvature and reduces the vehicle speed when appropriate while Highway Assist is active.
•Extended Stop and Go
In heavy stop-and-go traffic the auto-resume functionality for drive assist has been enhanced.
Your vehicle will now resume traveling after stopping in traffic as long as the driver monitoring system detects the driver is looking ahead.

Better bass, you say? I’m all ready to add an aftermarket sub to this thing just for even a tiny bit of punch. Please save me the hassle!
Yup, I'm sitting the the rear middle seat (best seat in the car for listening to Atmos) as I type this and you can literally feel the back seat woofers as well as the front foot well woofers. Deep bass too. Save your money.

Looking forward to the update. I checked the app and it hasn't been offered yet (2023 GT).

Oh, and they definitely increased the max volume too. Every song is louder on the lower volume levels.

Me either. I'm really looking forward to the enhanced sound. These are likely the changes the new Apple sound engineer Lucid hired has made, right?

I hope so. As a predominantly macOS guy for decades I've definitely noticed that Apple has managed to squeeze some amazing sound out of their systems. Even the tiny speakers on my Mac Book Pro sound ridiculously good.

Fingers crossed that Lucid can pull off better sound with the processing they have available without needing speaker upgrades.

Fingers crossed that this fixes my scheduled charging issue. Not sure this is the same as what I regularly encounter (although I know I've run into the issue described in the release notes also).

I’m looking forward to this. If it does work well, I’ll be happy to disconnect the small subwoofer I added to the trunk. Fingers crossed.

If you know, you know. ;)

How will you be able to tell if the trunk woofer is operating? Is there an off switch or something?

Anybody noticing excessive slow down on curves when in HA or ACC?

Yes, but not excessive in my opinion and I noticed it in the previous update.

Maybe "excessive" isn't the best word to use. For me I don't see any reason for slowing down at all on most of the curves. I'm hoping they will let us adjust it at some point in the future.
