UX 2.5 OTA Update

Has anybody else noticed a lack of regeneration on the highway now, too? I've got High regen set, as always, but now when I let off whilst on the highway, it's only a very gradual deceleration, once I'm down to about 45mph or below, it's back to normal. I wish they didn't change that, because now I actually have to use my brakes sometimes.
I like the gradual slow down at highway speed much better.

Turning off regen makes the car feel MUCH faster to me even under acceleration. Question: why would there be such a significant difference during acceleration? As I understand it regen is only in play on deceleration.

Well we have progressed. We used to talk endlessly about failed motors, body panel misalignments & other critical issues, but now we’re talking about turn signal sounds and navigation voices. Lucid is making considerable progress! 😉
Body panels that don't line up perfectly don't affect me when driving.

It feels faster but it is not. Throttle tip in is much quicker. With regen the first 25% of throttle movement is going through regen before moving to power. Without regen as soon as you touch throttle the car jumps foward.

I know it’s actually not faster but it sure feels it. I guess that’s why throttle remapping is part of most ICE tunes.

Everything was working fine since I've received the 2.5 update last week, but tonight while waiting at EA charger, I think my rear camera is broken? Front camera view works, but rear camera view is just a blank screen. I've tried logo reset but to no avail... Texted CS and waiting for their reply now...
I have similar issue - surround view does not work because of that. It's working when I first start the trip but does not work after that.

After much anticipation, I finally received ux 2.5 two nights ago which I excitedly installed in my car. Unfortunately, after the update my sound is significantly worse. Essentially the only thing that is working in the front speakers are the tweeters. Mid-range and bass are absent. I tried to do several resets to no avail. I brought it into service yesterday who confirmed the issue by moving the balance all the way to the front compared to all the way to the rear. Right now listening to music sounds like an old car that only had four speakers in AM!

In addition , lucid assistant now no longer recognizes any of my contacts. It keeps saying that I need to reload my contacts by toggling the option on and off which I have done several times

I'm in Vancouver BC Canada so this update also included some of the updates to dream drive. My dream drive now bounces throughout the lane and can't seem to hold itself in the center for long periods of time. It also now tries to go very close to a barricade on the left side of the highway even though there's lots of space on the right side. It is not centered. I have much less confidence in my dream drive now than I had previously. Curb assist is also unavailable in Canada

it clearly sounds like something happened with my update. My car is going to service next week to hopefully have this fixed. Unfortunately I have to say that despite my initial exuberance in installing this new software, my car is significantly worse with it. In fact, I would say that the last two updates did not make my car better but for me actually worse. I prefer to Alexa over the current lucid assistant. I am disappointed

I did notice that. In fact, the car did say that regen is reduced. I’m pretty sure it was when I had a higher charge % and then it went back to normal as the charge dropped

This is like having to sit on the sidelines while my brother opens his gifts! :-(
I wouldn’t be upset. I wish I could undo this update. I hate the audio now. The more I listen to it, the worse it gets. I really hope they can fix this, and quickly. I don’t even want to have music playing in my car at all right now, it’s that bad.

I totally agree with this. It's like they didnt do much testing at all. The center channel voice is so harsh. It's akin to a gramophone. Thats an exaggeration but the sound is colored in that way. Especially vocals. I have noticed there is a significant difference in the sound profile between Atmos and non-Atmos tracks. ATMOS tracks are very harsh and much louder so when you switch between the two you have to adjust the volume each time. The bass in Atmos tracks is muddy and imprecise. All of the precision of the sound system has been erased. I was all for more bass but not at the expense of the sound quality in general. I actually wonder if there is some sort of bug in the implementation concerning ATMOS tracks. It's that bad.

I would say that non-atmos tracks sound significantly better than ATMOS tracks after the update. I would call non-ATMOS tracks different that before but acceptable and I could even understand that some might prefer the new sound profile. I cannot imagine anyone preferring ATMOS now to what it was before.

When I think of so many people's reaction to OTA Update 2.5, and the strange assortment of problems that have cropped up, all I can think of is a very old American joke that could maybe be re-phrased into a customer sat survey... "But other than that, Mrs. Lincoln... How did you like the play?"

The only thing I can think listening to some of these reactions is that some folks are having serious issues with their car.

The sound is different. It's certainly expected that some would like the change more than others. The way people are describing it, though, doesn't match what my ears are hearing at all.

Reminds me of all the people talking about Surreal Sound (non pro) before Lucid tweaked that in software. Or the people who complained prior to getting the tape done on their original cars that shipped with no tape at all or loose tape.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. There's just no way the opinions on this could be this wildly different from one person to another.

I won’t listen to Atmos with vocals at this point; yes it’s that bad. I would ask people to play Whip It by Devo, in Atmos. It’s sounds so horrible that it is unlistenable. Most tracks with vocals accentuated on the center speaker have been completely ruined. Non Atmos and instrumentals sound great. Anyway, I am sure Lucid will find a happy medium . Kudos to them for trying to make positive changes.

This is exactly how I would characterize this change. I had my wife listen with me , and she was also stunned with how harsh the vocals are from the center channel.

It does seem odd. I would emphasize that to me not all the songs in Atmos sound horrible, but a significant percentage of them do. The sound becomes harsh when vocals are accentuated in the center speaker, especially with increased volume. It’s like nails on a chalkboard, it’s so bad. Non Atmos and instrumentals sound great in the car. I am sure they will address it so that everybody is eventually happy. I think there is a way to keep increased base response while also preserving the wonderful sound precision that they previously had. Still love my car, just a little bump in the road from my perspective.😊😊

Agreed. Those that have issues with the AQ should infotainment reboot and reset EQ settings to baseline. I haven’t evaluated the new sound myself as of yet.

I'm not a fan of this update ...it works great when I'm listening on Spotify but then when I switch to Tidal and Dolby Atmos ..audio it has ruined the experience of Atmos...bleh

Already done, did not improve the sound.
I do not think Atmos tracks were appropriately tested. Either that or there are car specific issues that have yet to be discovered, which I find unlikely.
