SURVEY: HV Battery Replacement

They replaced our rear drive unit along with the HV battery.

Two batteries replaced. My car was delivered May 2022. First battery replacement December of 2022 with 11900 miles on it. Second was August 2024 with 40 k I believe. Both replaced with wunderbox. If I extrapolate the time frame out this battery it should go in 114k miles and 6 years out. That should be the next owners problem as I hope to be in a gravity 5-7 months from now

Would have been good if the survey also asked at what mileage the battery was replaced at.

Just had HV battery replaced. Manufacture date: 9/22, Delivery date: 11/22, Odometer: 21,543. Had "DRIVE SYSTEM WARNING" on cockpit screen that did not go away after a "hard reset" requested by CS. Car flat bedded to Costa Mesa Service center for further diagnosis and fault found in HV battery. Service invoice attached for your own edification. Do not take a "warning light" lightly. Could have converted to a "DRIVE SYSTEM FAULT" and the situation could have been much worse if I was driving the vehicle.

What's your VIN? Replace the last four numbers with XXXX if you want for privacy. I see you submitted a survey but the VIN was incorrect.

I've heard a theory that the VINs that have an X at position number 9 have the best batteries. You have a 9 there. Who knows. I have the same production month as you, 33,000 miles on the original battery. Time will tell.

Frank told me about that theory. I do have a "X" car.

I don't think you can generalize that ninth position 'best battery' thing. I just ran the free National Highway Traffic Safety Administration VIN decoder for my 2023 Pure AWD. The decoder says that for my VIN, the 9th position is the check digit, and that (in my case) a 1 in that slot indicates a correct VIN. Bear in mind that Lucid most likely changed their VIN structure at one or more points. (I think I read something about them doing that fairly early on to handle one or more new models.

BTW, here's the decoder site, if you're interested: https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/decoder/

Mine has a “0” in ninth position and had to have HV battery replaced 🤷‍♂️

Interesting. I have an "X" and my battery health after 28 months is 97.7% (for whatever "battery health" is worth).

Hi, @Bobby! Please read my above post about different VIN structures by year. You all may be comparing apples and oranges...

I am conducting a survey to determine the frequency of HV battery replacement. I'd like to zero in on model, date of manufacture, etc. I would appreciate that all members take this survey, even if you have not needed a battery replacement so we can get an idea of frequency amongst our members. Thanks!

Good evening,

I had my 2022 Lucid Dream Edition full battery replacement I believe last spring time.

My Touring is at the SC having the HV battery replaced. Manufactured 11/2022 VIN: 50EA1TEA0PA00XXXX

My VIN has an 8 in position 9 and I’m on my third battery ( counting the original as well)

Oh god not this again

I have a “1” in the ninth position. HV battery replaced about a year ago.

Sep. 20220-build GT, now with 50K miles. And out of warranty.
