Spare tire

I'm actually also in the market for a good jack. One other model was mentioned here but the Amazon reviews were kind of mixed. Am interested in any recommendations.

How come you went with the jack that only is rated for 2.5 tons and not 3 tons given the weight of the car. I understand that you’re jacking up less weight than the total weight of the car but for $20 I’d err on the side of caution.
@hydbob did not recommend the 2.5 ton jack. He got his jack from EZ-Spare and stated this was the jack they sent to him. If bought from Amazon and not EZ-Spare, the 3 tons jack seems the better choice.

I found this one. Not so much for capacity but thinking a higher capacity is more stable standing at a freeway a rainy night replacing tire. Extra cost is nothing compared to jack falling over. I dont know if the 2.5 and 3.0 ton are different or the same just labelled and rated differently, but the 3.0 has better reviews than the 2.0 one.

Meant 2.5 instead of 2.5.

Are you guys storing the spare in the car itself? It doesn’t really fit that well imo 🤔

What is the use of the spare if you are 100 miles from home with a flat and the spare is in your garage?

Well, I assume we individually have to decide whether having the spare in or out of the Air is a priority. I feel more comfortable with a spare because of some of the remote places I drive and as long as it fits in the frunk no one will no the difference anyway.

I am of the age where I have driven 85% of my life without a cell phone because they were not invented. I would never drive without one now just for safety’s sake.

Doesn’t fit in the frunk.

Hydbob bought spare. Fits in frunk. He has photos on this forum.

Maybe there are two separate things being discussed here. A full sized regular Lucid set up as a spare or the aftermarket spare which is smaller.

The Mercedes EQS comes with their branded version of this:

Lucid has exact same but you have to pay $130 or something like that. Got mine 3 weeks ago when I picked up my car.

Was included with my "cheap" $159,000 Mercedes! 🤣😇

@hydbob - Out of curiosity, why did you buy the smaller spare (145/60R20) rather than the recommended one (195/55R20)? Will the bigger one not fit in the "sub frunk" space?

@CLTGT - Which one did you get since you were in contact with the company directly?
