Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Touring

Is it just me, or have others also not been getting any response - email or otherwise - from the DA in the west coast 😕. Tried multiple emails, called in one time and the agents on the phone said they'd raise the issue with them. Still, nothing.
Finally got the car today, thank God!

I was very close to canceling the order after having zero comms from my DA and feeling total disrespect after numerous calls and neither follow up nor movement.

Then, on a last ditch call to the corporate number, Vlad from the sales office in Vancouver CA picked up. Things improved instantly!!

He is one of the most caring and professional sales representative I have ever had! He took it upon himself to shepherd my case to satisfaction. He followed up very very quickly on multiple fronts, and within less than a week we went from a VIN "in production" for more than 3 weeks and no communication for BA about the finances to having a car in less than 5 days!

If just the majority of Lucid employees - not all - posses this level of professionalism, integrity, and customer care, the brand our investment in it will do very well.

@Svenice You got a Touring in QG and Mojave delivered back in December?? Are you sure it isn't a Grand Touring?

Don't mean to call you out here, but baffled that they had a Mojave Touring delivery while we were told that it would be Q1 2023. I've been following @idiot900 's build as his is identical to mine (spec'd out QG Mojave Touring) and we're looking at sometime in Jan/Feb.

Just my two cents but this is probably accurate. The factory appears to be building batched specs that make little sense. @moytoyx and I are STILL waiting on our ZR/SC fully loaded builds while dozens of others have received theirs when based on the tracker ordering, confirmed, and finalized theirs weeks or months after me. My DA finally admitted to me a few days ago that he hasn't seen a ZR/SC come from the factory in several weeks and that either ZR, SC, or both are delayed/backordered.

If you're baffled by the QG/Mojave build, believe it because nothing with these build batches makes much sense to most of us.

Joe, Please update my delivery of IB/SC. Reserved 10/16/20 VIN 12/9/22, Delivery 12/17/22

Yep following along since I believe my QG/Mojave Touring is in the same batch as both of yours as well and my DA told me this past week that the car is still in General Assembly.

So much for the roughly two day (IIRC) assembly time that a Lucid executive mentioned to @Adnillien...

You recall correctly. So was he blowing smoke or does the web site show in assembly while the car is waiting to ship from the factory or is it stuck in quality hold. The executive seemed to have a very good handle on the production numbers so I lean to something other assembly taking too long as the reason that the car shows in general assembly for a long period of time.

I would never rely on that dashboard to tell you much of anything. “In Production” does not equate at all to reality.

Even after delivery, it was several days before my car showed as having been delivered. It’s just not reliable at all.

Come to think of it, I might be in the first Mojave Touring batch…which perhaps means a longer assembly/inspection time since the materials are different from the GT Mojave interior.

Intentions of the tool are good but it's basically worthless. I've been in the status of preparing for production" for over a month. I ordered Stealth and those haven't even started yet. not sure what they are actually preparing for. Not sure what's worse, no info or bad info.

Pretty sure preparing for production just means your order is in place and they haven't started yet. Makes sense part of the prep is confirming orders right?

I guess but haven't they been preparing that preparing for much longer. I'm not expecting anything before March but based on everyone else's feedback this "tracker" is just not accurate. If i gave this info to my customers when i shipped goods my phone wouldn't stop ringing and i would have a tremendous amount of emails to answer from some very upset customers. I'm not shipping items that are worth $100k+ either. If you are going to do something do it right or don't do it at all.

My vehicle was involved in an accident on the shipping truck and I already paid for it. I was not given a new delivery date or any assurance that I wouldn't get my original VIN which I did not want because it was involved in an accident and had air bags deployed. I had been waiting since August 2020 and was really just done at that point.

Is that what's referred to as the "Hard Reboot"?

Also, do you have to unlock with Valet Key? That would seem cumbersome as you'd then have to punch in your 5 digit pin to actually drive the car

Right…it’s the lowest status, and not putting you into it could cause confusion that your order is lost. Of course the “preparing” is a bit misleading…”awaiting…”?

I would have said something like "Order Finalized"...but I'm sure they had plenty of meetings on the topic 🤣
