How effective is your air conditioner?

OK---yours works. And no, that wouldn't make a difference to the people whose A/Cs don't work.
I disagree bc there have been many many threads on whether the overhead canopy is the problem or whether Lucid can't make a decent ac or anything else related to a systemic problem with the car. For those who think that the car doesn't cool enough, they should get it checked out and not assume that the ac doesn't work. More importantly rather than assuming that the one person who makes a comment about bad ac speaks for everyone, maybe take other posts into consideration. But ultimately everyone can make their own choice about what to believe, so you do you.

So today we had our second Bay Area "Fun Drive". When we left our start point on Skyline at 9:00 a.m. it was in the high 80's. A/C on my car worked exceptionally well; I didn't ask the other drivers. In fact on my way home later that day around noon it was much hotter and I had to move the temp up to 75 to not be too cold in the car. Initially I had it set at 72 but it was too cold. Since I was no longer leading our "caravan" on my way home, I was driving much faster and perhaps that was helping the A/C get colder?? Apparently some on this forum are having problems with the A/C cooling sufficiently (or at all) but fortunately my car is doing just fine up to this point.

Hi has anyone in this A/C thread previously had a Tesla Model X or S? I haven’t had an ICE car in about 7 years. But I’ve had no problems with A/C in both my S and X. I’m awaiting my GT. I was hoping it’s not a step back A/C wise.

If you have Tesla experience can you compare the A/C on both?

@Maverick we hear you loud and clear but since your AC works you have no empathy for those who believe their AC is not cooling enough or believe them lol. It is OK, we are simply trying to identify the issues with our personal vehicles and it is not a knock on any person and on Lucid(just yet). Perhaps we will also stop having discussions on our personal issues and deal with Lucid Service because it seems some people are getting upset here and that defeats the purpose of our posts and this forum.

AZ group, appreciate you sharing that table. I will try and use our digital temp gauge and see if I can buy that temp gun.

The one thing seems clear that despite the Glass doing a great job of keeping heat out (my sunroof glass literally burns my head and I cant stand to keep the covers off), Tinting as much of the Car as possible will help with the cooling. That project is next.

Today, It is 100F where my AGT reads. I let it stand under that sun for 90min. It did get really hot. But cool is alright when I set entire cabin to 64F level 4 ~ 8 cooling level. It took 5+ min comfortable. But this is not new to Houston weather. I think I just need to research where can I can massive sun blocker shade for this car. Any suggestion In Amazon.com out there?

Hey guys... really having troubles deciding what tint level to apply to my windows. I know the windshield would be 70... however, I have tinted my Volvo on all windows (excluding windshield). I have troubles with viewing through my side window at night and did not want that issue with this car. My only concern is my dislike for the sun shining on my arms etc on long drives.
Will a 35 be the "perfect blend"? Any insight would be appreciated.
I might be wrong … but 70 all round will still cut over 90% of the IR (eg heat transmission)

in NorCal many are just getting 70 for IR reduction, not bothering with super black look

My car is still with the service center, they appear to be having difficulty identifying a problem. They say it is functioning properly, but the porter confirmed on the drive in that it wasn't keeping up.

They seem to think it may be a sensor issue. On Auto it stays on level 5, even when hot.

I am glad to hear that others have good AC. That beats a systematic problem. Anyone in the Chicago area want to get together and make a chart?

Well, I deserve this after saying my AC was great, but service is coming to look at my AC vents because for some reason the left and right middle vents push Air differently on the same fan speed with all vents open.

I wonder if this thread will start an influx of AC service...

Well no matter how we try to spin it OR it is an EV thing but theAC Cooling is less than optimal imo. For all I know it could have been a design compromise etc. perhaps the idea was to have the quietest cabin vs cooling in AZ/Texas etc. Mechanically everything could still be fine but they may have picked the fan for its quietness vs pushing out more air.

Hope they fit in your frunk...better option for me is to SAVE 4k and get a normal roof
I love the roof,I was also skeptical about it but that design is kickass and the fact that it repels so much of the heat is awesome. I have had no use for Sunroofs in my Vehicles. Only use it to get the hot air out right when I am getting into the vehicle and close it immediately because of the heat and sunlight that comes in through them.

I would suggest test both if you can.

Thx great advice...BTW I've had maybe 20 cars with sunroofs and never open ONE

This makes sense. The quietest cabin can be compromise. My Jeep Wrangler is noisy, but that AC vent blowing hard and loud. I like the overall design of Air. The only disapproval I have are center console, smaller cup holder base, phone wireless charging base is too tight and the cup holder can block the pilot panel screen. Other than that, the car just feel perfect for me.

Awesome, Congrats and very happy to hear that. Let’s hope we can all say that sooner than later.

I wouldn't blame it because it is an EV. The loaner I have, a Model Y has great AC. So did my Model S before this.
