Don't skip it. The first call is where your configuration, delivery plans and payment plans are discussed and confirmed so that your car can get its place in line for production.

Update. Well, my DA (Joey Peterson) and I are off to a great start. He missed his 1030 hrs PDT telepphone appointment today.

I’m going to run around and do errands. No sense in my waiting any longer.

Needless to say I’m not overcome with the warm fuzzies about Lucid at the moment.

I have been having terrible issues with my DA. Everything from giving me really bad advice on the financing, being overly optimistic on delivery date, and not communicating, and constantly being out of the office (to name a few). As in my other post, he has really ghosted me. I have called Lucid asking for a DA manager or any supervisor. They promise that someone will call back, however it has not happened today. The last call about my DA, I requested that either a new DA be assigned to me or a manager call me back. My DA called me back within 20-minutes of that call. Apparently, my message went straight to the DA and not the manager.

I am not advocating that the car will be delivered faster with a new DA, however my emails are one per week - the lack of just sending an email back saying nothing has changed would be helpful. The email usually just ask for an update and let the DA know how many more days I have left on my second loan approval (the first one expired after 35-days since no delivery date was provided). The finance company (now with Consumers Credit Union) also reaches out to me twice weekly asking when I will be able to close. Today will be day 51 since my VIN assignment.

He did not tell me specifics but he said a tech could take up to two weeks with each car.
Ugh. If true 10 person-days per car is a pretty significant cost to Lucid. There has to be $10,000 of lost value in that labor. However, if that’s what they need to do to prevent much more costly warranty issues in the future, then that’s what they have to do.

no, VIN should be here in a couple weeks he said...
My confirmation was 4/5. I would love to take delivery in the month of July but tend to doubt it. My Da is pretty tight lipped, which may not be bad since I have no expectations. I just keep telling myself that the upside is that they probably will have a good software update by then.

I am one that has paid for the car and has been waiting for 6 weeks post VIN assignment. I have no issues with increased quality control processes. In fact, I welcome them. I would rather issues be addressed before they deliver my sweet glide. I am, however, dumbfounded by the genius inside of Lucid that said "keep them in the dark, do not communicate with them regarding anything that is happening" I believe that genius should be replaced ASAP.
Today is day 51 for me. I paid my out of pocket cash to Lucid ($48K), the rest financed and ready to be signed. The money and the first finance (expired on day 35) were all done at the urging of my DA who said my car would be delivered quickly after VIN assignment. I took it hook, line and sinker.

Congrats! I see you were confirmed Dec 1, 2021. It's been a very long wait but the end is in sight. I am envious!
It has been, and I found myself frustrated from time to time with the process. Overall though, I've had a very positive experience with my DA and her Associate Manager and excited to get and enjoy the car.

I keep telling myself, “once they get over this hurdle, they’ll be producing like crazy..” and it never happens.

Well with a little persuasion and doing my own homework and a lot of help from the studio manager here in AZ, I will be taking delivery of my car today! Q. Grey / Tahoe. My car had just been sitting outside waiting to be inspected for the new panel gaps for a month and when I told them I was funding a loan without a car, the service team pulled my car in evaluated it and said it would be ready today. Sounds like the service centers just have a lot of cars to go through and doesn't necessarily mean every car has big issues. Now I will see if thats the case upon delivery today.

agree. Just a weekly update would be nice.

FWIW they are hiring more Delivery Associates and it seems to be a remote position. Several people located all across the country (Boston, Canada, and Chicago so far) being hired.

There was also a "Delivery Supervisor" hired, which may be a more delivery-oriented job to focus on the process of meeting with customers to get them their cars. If Lucid was wise, they'd hire a PDI specialist to allow the service people to service.
