EPA Methodology, is it accurately reflecting the actual driving conditions and resultant EV efficiency and range?

“Hyundai got in trouble for this in 2012. The company used highly optimized tires and cherry-picked favorable results that turned out to be unachievable in the real world. It got hit with a $100 million fine from the EPA in 2014 and reduced fuel-economy ratings across much of the 2012 and 2013 Hyundai and Kia lineups.”
I bought my wife Hyundai's flagship Genesis sedan back in 2012, and I wish I kept track of how many debit cards we got from them over the years as a result of that settlement. It was the gift that kept on giving.
