Fair warning: We did it with our Tesla and they banned us from ever buying again . Granted, I have no desire for another Tesla. That's what my buddy keeps saying...I'm like..we are getting close!
Wow really? That's absurd, if anything they should have offered you a discount...sad!Fair warning: We did it with our Tesla and they banned us from ever buying again . Granted, I have no desire for another Tesla.
The only thing I dislike with this car is the software and recent slowdown of updates. Hardware wise, it’s fantastic, and service has really cared and tried to fix everything.

It is. There was a blogger that Elon Musk personally banned because he wrote a bad article about Teslas. https://medium.com/@salsop/banned-by-tesla-8d1f3249b9fb#.qbr4aztioTesla
Fickle is sorta the name of the game when it comes to them.
That is hardly a blogger. That's Stewart Alsop, partner at Alsop Louie, an extremely successful Investor and former journalist. He's a great dude, and I remember this story. It is. Yeah if Bluetooth worked reliably, or if you could play audio over USB, this wouldn’t be quite as much of a problem. It’s literally the ONLY thing about the car that in my opinion is a serious screw up that shouldn’t have made it out of the factory. Who doesn’t listen to music/audio while driving? I love the car but am counting down the minutes until I can actually just listen to music without difficulty and irritation. I understand not having CarPlay, but annoyed none of the other alternative options work reliably.I drove through several areas with weak or non-existent cell coverage today, and it was both annoying and comical how music would just stop. Annoying because it just plain sucks not have music on when you want it. Comical to think that whoever designed this system didn’t consider what it’s like to drive through rural areas. Apple CarPlay would solve a lot of issues and can’t arrive a moment too soon.
For now if you have Tidal you can take advantage of Dolby Atmos. I have created a "Playlist" on Tidal with about 150 Dolby Atmos recordings. I have created a "workaround" to facilitate listening to it in the car. I open the music setting and then select Tidal, then i find my "Playlist" and click on it. It always starts with the same first selection. Then there is a little squiggle under the lower left that I click twice to get to the random play and then I hit the next button on the steering wheel and I'm off and running. It goes through my Playlist in a random order and all the selections light up the white Dolby Atmos header above the song playing. The sound is very very good!! All of that said, I'd rather have Apple CarPlay with Apple Music where my Dolby Atmos Playlist is much larger. There’s always your local AM/FM stations…however antiquated that may be. Amazing to me how much they hyped Dolby ATMOS and don’t really have a great way to take advantage of it
And Android support??Spoke with a Lucid employee today who is closely involved with software and hardware at Lucid and he ensured me that Apple CarPlay is coming soon. Not sure what "soon" actually means but at least we have confirmation it is coming.
CarPlay isn’t going to help you when you have no signal for streaming. Unless you’be preloaded the music you want to listen to. In which case, Bluetooth from your phone will work as well.I haven’t received my vehicle but was made acutely aware of how annoying it will be to not have the capability of Apple car play or XM. This week, I spent 6 hours each way driving thru Montana. For 3 of those hours, I had absolutely no cell reception.
As many others have emphasized on this thread, this should be top priority for Lucid.
Get Apple car play working and if possible make XM radio available.
Driving without the option to reliably listen to music is a huge negative.

Playing music on my phone via Bluetooth works about 10% of the time, this is something else they need to fix ASAP. I deleted it, repaired it, paired as audio only, no luck. Also no USB music support.
You could load music on your phone and play through Bluetooth?
I think maybe I’m an outlier? Sometimes it will randomly work but most of the time it won’t. Playing downloaded songs from Apple Music seems to work a little better (maybe 30% of the time?) than using any streaming service, but if I try to play NPR news now off apple podcasts or iHeart radio on my phone, nope, it just spins and spins. I can just say “Alexa play NPR news” and it will then work fine off the car. But most things I try to do via Bluetooth music wise fail. Bluetooth phone calls works ok.Ok, not being able to play music via BT is a major issue if you can only get it to work a tiny fraction of the time. I was OK with having to use my phone via BT to get SiriusXM Radio, but if that doesn’t work…
I've never had an issue playing Audible through Bluetooth which is a lot, even on software 1.0.4 lolI think maybe I’m an outlier? Sometimes it will randomly work but most of the time it won’t.
