I noticed that there is a notice on the App that mentioned Google assist is going away on the 13th. Any hints as to why?

Apparently Google is discontinuing support for 3rd party apps. In any case when I tried using Google Assistant in Lucid, it did not work well and I gave up using it. In future if Lucid decided to use Android Automotive OS with its Google Assistant deeply integrated with Google Maps, it can work. Lucid already using Android OS anyway. It is not so hard to do so if they want to.

Conversational Actions were generally a poor experience for a lot of reasons. Having to say "Ask Lucid what my battery is" was clunky and inconsistent. You can read about what specifically they're turning down here: https://developers.google.com/assistant/ca-sunset

Companies were generally aware of this, and several have already started on the alternative pathways.

Google's recommendation is for developers to switch over to App Actions: https://developer.android.com/guide/app-actions/overview. I have no proof of this, but I would assume Lucid's developers will likely already be playing with that as a replacement. This would allow you to (in theory, again, I don't know Lucid's plans) simply say "Hey Google, tell me my Lucid's battery level" and it would respond much faster and more consistently.

We'll have to wait and see. Personally I thought the current implementation was not worth using.
