Remanufacturing is the rebuilding of a product to specifications of the original manufactured product using a combination of reused, repaired and new parts. It requires the repair or replacement of worn out or obsolete components and modules.

Parts subject to degradation affecting the performance or the expected life of the whole are replaced.

Remanufacturing is a form of a product recovery process that differs from other recovery processes in its completeness: a remanufactured machine should match the same customer expectation as new machines.

Refurbished is the distribution of products usually electronics and electricals that have been previously returned to a manufacturer or vendor for various reasons.

Refurbished products are normally tested for functionality and defects before they are sold.

It is repaired from the manufacturer and resold.

The main difference between "refurbished" and "used" products is that refurbished products have been tested and verified to function properly, and are thus free of defects, while "used" products may or may not be defective.

Refurbished products may be unused customer returns that are essentially "new" items, or they may be defective products that were returned under warranty, and resold by the manufacturer after repairing the defects and ensuring proper function.

Remanufacturing is a more thorough and costly process because it is more rigorous and works toward a higher standard than refurbishing.

Thanks, I didn’t know that distinction. My service rep said refurbished, but he may have misspoke.

Feel free to double check, but I’m fairly certain. If they’ve changed that, that would be good to know and a significant change.
 
Took my car in for replacement of a cracked windshield and they informed me that they are replacing my HV battery. Car manufactured 2/22; FWIW, the 9th position of the VIN shows an “X.” Car has 10,150 miles on it.

Also, a number of you have referred to battery health. Are you calculating this value based on current max charge level, or can you read this somewhere?
 
Unfortunately, I will be the newest member of this battery replacement club :( Don't know exactly when my Touring was made, but I received it in late December 2022. Any insights on how long the whole process took for my fellow club members? BTW, I have about 46,000 miles on the car.
 
Lucid Service had my Touring for a month, and provided me with a GT, pickup and drop off at my house.

Just heard from service at KOP - they got my car last Friday and expect to have the new battery INSTALLED this week. WOW!!!! I never expected it to happen so quickly. I am very happily surprised
 
I just received word that my battery is being replaced. Received the Drive System fault about 10 days ago - Lucid took it in and said battery imbalance caused the fault and needs replacement. I filled out the survey - but again that kind of swings results negative.
No wunderbox replacement as of yet.
Car is a 2023 AT delivered 03/2023 with 36,000 miles
 
Mine was replaced a few months back. I have a Air GT that was delivered April 2022. I did not know there was a problem and took it in for something else and they told me they were doing it. They said "new battery" and I did not ask any specific questions about what they were replacing with so I do not know about new vs refurbished vs remanufactured.

I am unable to get the link to work for the survey

They do not replace them with refurbished. They replace them with remanufactured.

Thank you. I was honestly pleasantly surprised that they did it without me noticing there was a problem at all. I am about to trade in for my GGT so I don't care much either way but pleasantly surprised as I thought it great of them to be so proactive.
