Lucid is changing my HV battery

I drove my loaner to San Diego for a pre-planned trip.

You can add me to the list. My GT is at Costa Mesa to look at the HV battery. The service center told me about a month ago that they noticed some issues on remote updates and scheduled my car to come to the center with a possibility of replacing the HV battery. My car had a manufacturing date of May 2022 and has about 28k miles on it. Perhaps there is something to these early vehicles and the supply chain issues at that time.

Yeah mine was March 22 build, 18k miles when they caught the fault.

Interesting thread. I was just informed that my HV battery also needs to be changed - 2022 GT with 20k miles on it. I didn't have any issues; they just ran the VIN and said it qualified for a replacement. Anything I need to pay attention to or ask them?

Out of curiosity, what was your build date?

Mine was March 2022 build, swapped out at 18k miles, now have 29K miles, no issues with new or old battery. For mine they did find a ground isolation fault in a single cell via remote diagnostics (remote alerted them, testing at the service center confirmed it), which could have led to a failure. Glad they caught it with no inconvenience to me and got a new battery out of it.

I don’t think there is anything in particular you need to pay attention to or be concerned about . I received the same notice a couple weeks back, also for a 2022 GT. I feel pretty fortunate to be getting a new HV battery. Kudos to Lucid for taking care of their customers.

Never knew this would get so popular the thread mostly 2022s tho

You can add me to the list. My GT is at Goose island service center in Chicago (HV battery getting replaced. They told me about the recall about 2 months ago. I didn't get a chance to schedule the service till now because I was busy.). I have 28000 miles on it. I got my GT on 6/11/2022.

Are they replacing the whole battery or just a module ?

They replace the entire battery pack and the Wunderbox. Your getting new (likely a refurbished pack) components at 28k miles.
What do you mean by refurbished Pack - I mean how is it obtained.

I believe the replacement packs are remanufactured, not refurbished. The difference being “A remanufactured product will have all the components replaced on it, all to the new specification, while refurbished products only have the failed components replaced.”

There's no good reason for Lucid to be replacing battery cells that are funcitoning within spec. As a stockholder, I'm glad if they are doing refurbished packs instead.

The failure seems to be in the components that link the pack to the Wunderbox, etc. Replace those, and the pack works fine? Great. Just do that.

So long as the pack makes it past its warranty period with over 70% capacity, they are holding up their end of the bargain, as far as I'm concerned.
