Profile Switching and Seat Memory not adjusting

I’ve started noticing a problem with seat memory now that my wife has set up her profile. Once in a while, when we get into the car together, it will pick her profile, but by the time I notice, the seat is already beginning to cram my legs towards the front of the car. If I switch the profile back to mine in the midst of this, the seat doesn’t move back. So then I have to switch back to hers and back to mine a second time which as we know…profile switching is the bane of this car’s existence takes 30 seconds for each switch, so over 2 minutes for the 4 times this needs to change. Is there a way to just revert seat back to saved settings or something?

Under the seat adjustment screen on the Pilot Panel, if you move the seat from the saved position, there should be a button that pops up on the bottom of the screen that says Restore, which brings it back to the saved position. Does the Restore button show up when you're having that issue?

its greyed out even after I switch to my profile and seat is in a weird state

Super frustrating. Here's my workaround.

First, as soon as the seat starts moving to her position, push any control on the driver's seat, on the left side of the chair. I usually just push the bottom position button back. That will stop it moving to her position immediately.

Once the seat stops moving, use the right cockpit to switch back to your profile. Let it load. (Takes way too long.)

Once your profile has loaded, open the driver's door and close it again. This should start the seat moving to your saved position.


Not ideal, but that's the quickest way I've found to get back to where my seat should be.

So this saves you from having to cycle the profiles a second time? Interesting…I’ll try it.i don’t think this would be an issue if profile switching didn’t take so long.

I have another question from something my wife just noticed. Homelink needs to be re-added with the new profile? Really?!

Yes, because of Android Automotive security profiles.

Must be re-added and your garage door opener re-trained. My other AAOS car has its Homelink buttons on the rear view mirror. Much easier to deal with and use - Homelink isn't stored in a profile, just in the mirror.

The automaker (Volvo/Polestar) chose to implement Homelink entirely outside AAOS, so no bearing on AAOS security. It's the same Homelink rearview mirror used by millions of cars.

Yea just seems like lucid could’ve found an alternate route to put it outside AAOS as well if they wanted

Profiles are likely one of the worst parts of the Air. I sincerely hope there was a complete rework for UX 3.0.

Probably just a first-try error in product specification - no one realized. I hope Gravity uses Homelink in the rearview mirror. Solves a couple problems.

The whole point of Homelink being built in was to have more than 3 buttons, up to 15 if I recall because they expected owners to have multiple residences to program.

Right, with an entry gate and 3 garage doors, you're already past the limit of the rearview mirror approach.
The AAOS Homelink implementation also lets you program a user profile with no access to your home - Valet mode, etc.

Tesla and Rivian have screen based homelink with some crazy number of garages you can program but they are not limited by profile. Only lucid messed this up

Something's gone hinky with seat adjustments lately. Our "Easy Entry/Exit" feature has gone random. It'll work properly for a few days, then become erratic for a few days. When it's erratic, the steering wheel will usually return to the programmed position, but the seat stays all the way back. If I then go into the seat control menu on the Pilot Panel, I can sometimes return the seat to its programmed position by hitting the "Restore" button. But sometimes the programmed position has been lost altogether. An "Air logo" reboot does not cure the problem.

Apparently this has hit other cars, and fixing it requires "rehoming" the seat, which has to be done by a service technician. Our car is back at a Service Center right now for this and a couple of other issues.

Pretty much. Fortunately, they're all very nice people.

With the Miami Service Center now open in addition to the earlier Riviera Beach Service Center, at least we've shaved almost 100 miles of the distance to get there. However, as Lucid almost always picks up and returns the car, it redounds more to their benefit . . . if you can call this a benefit.

I've bought so many new car models at launch that I am not exactly surprised and can roll with all this. In fact, the Lucid has been less plagued with new-model problems than cars I've owned from Mercedes, Jaguar, GM, and -- wait for it -- Tesla. (Our 2015 P90 D had to have a new battery pack, new rear drive unit, four door handle mechanisms replaced, an MCU replacement, numerous cosmetic fixes. Other problems were never fixed, such as the loss of ability to read a music stick and frequent software freezes, and one bout of the car jumping momentarily to full acceleration while I was cruising down the highway with my foot steady on the accelerator.)

However, I do worry big time about what these repair costs are doing to Lucid's bottom line. I'm seeing this through the lens of owning two early-production cars (Nos. 154 and 395). I can only hope later cars off the line are seeing less incidence of repair.
