Production started YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!

We have banned this source due to it being a consistent source of misinformation and/or rumors. It is not a credible source. LinkedIn is. :)

I don’t know what Peter meant by that, but I think it sows excitement, not confusion. You could read it either way.

I didn't know the source was banned, and it's fine with me if it is due to unreliability. It came up in a google search on yesterday's production start, and I read it along with all the other articles that came up. It was the only one, however, which reported what turned out to be something Rawlinson actually did post. That's why I brought it to the forum to see if anyone knew anything about what he might be suggesting. (Fwiw, I steer clear of social media sites, so I don't see "X", "Instagram", "LinkedIn", or other such sources unless someone posts them on the forum.)

I guess whether his post sows excitement, confusion, or anything else is pretty much in the eye of the reader. Personally, I am always excited to get information about further Lucid advances. However, to be told "there's something coming that is still my little secret for now" just kind of irritates me and makes me feel manipulated. If you can't talk about it, don't tease me with it.

Positive news! Stock popped a little today, placed an order last night. My average price is now $3.16! Getting closer to breaking even! Lol. I’m holding for awhile, so in no rush.

I've been averaging down, too, to try to get a little closer to being back in the money. But, boy, talk about a dog chasing its tail . . . .

Yea. I have a WAYS to go on my Rivian stock! My 900% growth on TSLA and other investments has helped to ease the blow

That’s fine - we didn’t post about it or anything, we just made the choice after a number of articles being posted that were repeatedly false or misleading. This specific one wasn’t, which is great, but it’s generally not a reliable source.

I hear ya. Some people like being teased, I guess :p

I was hoping to see a gravity suv review to be posted today. 😌

As much as I loved watching the Gravity holds its own against those cones, I have to say watching the driver handle the "squircle" bugged me a bit. Some of what looked like unnatural or awkward movements just brought our year-and-a-half of living with a Tesla yoke too much to mind. At a couple of points during hard turns he seemed to be handing the wheel off from one hand to the other when the more natural movement would have been a hand-over-hand grip.

I'm not saying the "squircle" will be as bad as the yoke, but it's getting a bit too close for complete comfort.

Haha, I promise that driving that course, anyone is going to make unnatural movements.

But you’re right; it’s not a circle. It will likely take a bit of getting used to.

I was, too. (Actually I've been hoping for this ever since orders opened.). I know it was a completely unsourced rumor, but somehow that Reddit post saying the embargo would lift on Monday, December 9 seems about right to me. Assuming the test drives were done early in the week when Kyle Conner and his sidekick and Jason Cammisa were known to be at Lucid, giving people about a week to sort out their thoughts, compare notes, and get back to their editing consoles just kinda falls into place.

It also looked a bit small to me and reminded me that the "Top Gear" reviewer who test drove an alpha prototype referred to the squircle as "tiny", especially for steering such a large vehicle.

I keep scratching my head trying to remember if I had that impression from sitting in the Gravity a few weeks ago, but all I really remember is that the upper and lower rims felt a bit thin compared to the Air's wheel.

Don't tell me you diamond hand without telling me you diamond hand.

Peter is a nice guy and very passionate about the brand but yeah, sometimes I think he needs to read the room a little.

Given the lack of info released since the ordering opened I don’t think it’s a smart move to continue to tease. If it turns out to be a nothing burger then people will just become more frustrated. The time for teasing is over, orders are being taken and the car has entered production so clearly everything is finalized yet the final specs are being kept secret for some unknown reason.

I’m no marketing person but this whole strategy just seems a little strange to me.

That's the impression I've developed about him. In fact, when he stepped out of that first Gravity off the production line yesterday I thought he looked like Ralphie when he finally got that BB gun for Christmas. It was the kind of unfiltered, unadulterated excitement you'd never see on the grinning face of a Ford or GM CEO stepping out of a new model just off the production line. He truly seems to be a car guy through and through.

Did they forgot to put the frunk seat or this is something we need to buy in Lucid store? Need to wait on more info if this is optional or included with GT.
I would think this is included as standard.

You’re not totally wrong on the rest of your post, but I wouldn’t be certain there aren’t more things coming. I don’t know, but I don’t get the impression Peter would tease without having an Ace in his pocket or something; I could be wrong, though.

The final specs are likely to come out next week with the reviews, assuming the Dec 9 embargo date is accurate based on the rumors @hmp10 mentioned above; that would be my guess.

Don’t you think any aces up the sleeve though should’ve been mentioned before the orders actually opened? I know Lucid was adamant they didn’t want to do the reservations and go straight to orders but this campaign seems to be treated like an announcement (seeking reservations) not an imminent release 🤷‍♂️

It’ll be an accessory for sure

There are other possibilities; perhaps a different or additional trim (which, yes, would mean offering the opportunity to upgrade or downgrade before delivery, hypothetically), accessory options, or who knows. It doesn’t have to be a feature or spec that has gone unmentioned.

Or it’s literally nothing. I have no idea.
