Update to the tracker.

I received my vehicle today and had an excellent experience with Sophea, as he thoroughly explained the vehicle to me.

Most of it seems intuitive but there is certainly a lot to learn.

Color and wheels: Zenith Red, 19 inch.

Yeah, I‘m also in Massachusetts and they‘re telling me it takes them 2 to 3 weeks to get plates and registration AFTER you send them the completed application with the insurance stamp. (Which you technically can’t get without the manufacturers title, which they refuse to send even though you’ve paid for the vehicle.).

I suggested they send the title and just let customers register the car themselves and pay the tax, you can get plates the same day.

I didn’t want to have to wait the 2-3 weeks. It sounded like the car would not be legally registered for that period, thus now really drivable.

Part of me suspects they are quoting such a long time because they don’t want to do this. Or maybe they don’t have the manpower to do it and are just discouraging owners from using the service. Either way, I’ll just deal with it myself.
 
My wife was at The Mall at Short Hills and I asked her to stop by the Lucid showroom and see if she could find out anything about my car. They told her it was already in production and I should be getting my VIN soon. Hopefully they know what they are talking about.
 
I just returned from my first somewhat extended drive with the car. I don’t even know what to say, it is extraordinary. Blasting the BeeGees and various other artists through Dolby Atmos and floating over road surfaces with this machine , was like nothing I have experienced. To all of you waiting , it will be worth it , even with the hiccups and frustrations , etc.

Seems like the login is enabled just before the delivery.I'm told My car is shipped to Costa Mesa center, I tried today and I am able to login to the app, I see a welcome screen and can download the car manual. Nothing else is enabled in the app at the moment.

Well, what do ya know! Finally got the call. Reserved silver Pure 12/21, confirmed silver AGT 3/9, DA called mid-Aug with an available white AGT, mojave, 19". Finances completed 8/25. Alex from Short Hills studio called and texted today. Car can be picked up 9/10 or later. I had been promised by my SA and previous DA that it would be delivered to my home, being 2+ hours away from the studio, but I am now being told they are "ramping up production and that is no longer possible". They will send a car. Not worth arguing and delaying the process further. Hoping for a fun 2hr. ride home with no issues (12V, turtles, etc)
 
UPDATE: I originally ordered a black, Mojave, 21" but informed my DA (Jacques) that I would take a Quantum Gray, Mojave, 21" if it became available. Well, I just got the call that I am getting a cancelled order! He said the car is done with production and at the factory. Will be shipped to Goose Island and then to NJ for me to pick up. He also said it could be as soon as 2 weeks.

Most importantly for all of you still waiting....he also said the new QC measures and inspections have been successful and cars are coming out with fewer issues and passing PDI more efficiently. Keep your fingers crossed!

Enjoy the ride! When I did a demo drive at Short Hills back in early August, Alex also told me that they were not doing home deliveries from Short Hills. I hadn't thought to ask any other Lucid reps prior to that.

If you look at the flyovers it does appear that there is some good momentum going now which is great to see. Now lets hope these 12v issues aren't a bigger problem that ends up in a recall otherwise things will come to a grinding halt again.
 
Really like what I have learned in this forum. Car finally getting close. Got a call yesterday, that it was in transit to Florida. Got the docs email and the invitation to pay. Want the car delivered directly to the PPF installer on 9/19, (out of country next week). Being told I will have priority for shipment if I issue payment now.
Pushing back that I at least want to see “proof of life”. Pictures of the car delivered to the Florida Service Center.
Does Lucid’s payment request make sense? Am I being unreasonable to ask for some sort of proof the car is actually in the same state? Thanks all for the continued help. I have been close to canceling a couple of times. Then I read a post about how great the car is once delivered. Time almost here.

I was comfortable paying at their request, when my car was in Seattle and I live in Idaho.
I don’t think you are at any risk paying when they request. I received the car a couple weeks after payment, which I was satisfied with.

Congrats! I think based on what Lucid has said to you, it's safe to pay.

We are all fans of good quality writing & drawing utensils in my family. If you think $2+/pencil is a lot, you would cry to see what we spend on pens.

UPDATE to the UPDATE! Apparently, Lucid rejected the VIN swap because my original order is already in production. They will not allow an owner whose order is in production to take a cancelled order. SO, I am back to black, Mojave, 21" and my car is in production. He said they only assign a VIN # now when the car is 1/2 thru production. And now I wait again. :-(
