Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

Yes we are and very high level people are involved in helping me at Lucid and the Car is being taken to Houston tomorrow to address 10 issues.

I am not sure why you want to make me out as the villain. I spent 150K on this Car. It is in my best interest that it works for me but unlike some folks here I absolutely will not accept everything under the caveat “you should have known you were buying a new vehicle from a startup”.

Hopefully every item will be addressed and we will live happily ever after.

We just want pics. Part of being in this community is sharing so we can look out for items which we may miss. It's the reason why we are all sharing pictures of issues, fixes, work around, etc. If you don't want to share, that's fine, but how will holding back help the next owner who may encounter the same problem?
 
Same.. My DA reached out 35 days ago requesting my vehicle registration information and he never responded to some very basic questions I had. I sent another email 3 days ago, and no response.
I received an odd call from my DA today. Asked me if i had arranged financing. I said financing is only good for 30 days and asked why is there an update on the car? He says it is leaving this week from the factory to go for PDI at Goose Island but still 2-6 weeks. i told him that BofA will approve my loan in a couple of hours when I am ready. He then says that the bank will not do the financing without a sales agreement. I say okay, send me the sales agreement. Response was they are not ready to do that yet. So I go back to why are they asking me if i arranged financing if they know i cannot do get it without a sales contract? What was the reason for the call?

I guess to get you mentally ready. They told me any time I could get my GT in 4~6 weeks, then in merely 3 weeks, just shocked me with a call that it’s already here. I don’t think they even know whereabout in their own product schedule, thus hush hush not supply misinformation to customers.

I received an odd call from my DA today. Asked me if i had arranged financing. I said financing is only good for 30 days and asked why is there an update on the car? He says it is leaving this week from the factory to go for PDI at Goose Island but still 2-6 weeks. i told him that BofA will approve my loan in a couple of hours when I am ready. He then says that the bank will not do the financing without a sales agreement. I say okay, send me the sales agreement. Response was they are not ready to do that yet. So I go back to why are they asking me if i arranged financing if they know i cannot do get it without a sales contract? What was the reason for the call?
To test you sanity. It's part of the recently implemented enhanced PDi! :)

Okay. I’m not making you out to be the villain; I have nothing against you. I just think it would be useful to provide some more detail for everybody’s benefit, including ours and yours.
 
Well this morning it seemed my car had done a 180 in the app's location screen but still remained in the wrapped cars lot, however now seems Luci has caught on to my inquisitiveness and my car has found its way to the Gulf of Guinea off the coast of Africa at 0,0 (aka Null Island). You got to love their commitment to keep us in the dark, or in my case in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. :D

That’s where Prime Meridian and Equator meet. Basically, your data bridge is set null from your mobile app to Lucid Server. (They don’t want you to mess up their car, not your car yet. 😃) Once the purchase agreement and transaction are completed, they will allow you to access your car functionality remotely.

You can OTA update, get instrument numbers, lock/unlock doors, windows, horns, cabin climate all remotely on your mobile app without fob, even if you on the other side of world. You can even send next travel destination from your phone app navigation to Air navigation. I wish they can even do sentry mode and remote video transmission to your mobile app, but that would have further vampire battery drain. Your Air EV is basically computer on wheels.
 
It’s all about hope. The same reason people buy lottery tickets. 😂

The problem is also that there really isn’t anything better to buy that would be available sooner. It’s a lot easier to move the goal posts for a few more months than to put a deposit down on something like a Rivian and possibly wait years. Maybe someone could find an EQS, but that would seem anti-climactic after test driving a GT. Plus, it looks like an upside down bathtub to quote a forum member. I’ve pondered getting a Taycan, but that range is a non-starter. Tesla? Fugedabouditt. So, move the goal post and wait it is.
That’s exactly where my head is and I love Porsche.

Maybe Lucid opened a a new delivery center there.
 
My app did not connect to the car until 3+ weeks post VIN assignment. When it did connect I thought I was getting close to delivery but that excitement has since cooled. Oddly enough today the car seems to have done a 180 in the location screen but still seems to be in the same place in the main lot of wrapped cars.
My app never connected to the car until I was at the delivery center picking it up.
 
For what it's worth, I spoke with my DA on Tuesday to ask some questions regarding the 21" tires as I've confirmed with 19's. He mentioned that they had put in a service hold on the 21's late last week and they are investigating internally and with Pirelli the bubbling/blowout issues that have been well-documented on this forum (but to be clear, not experienced by all). Sounded like people with near-term 21" wheels may have a little delay while they sort things out. Good to know they are monitoring everyone's feedback and are working diligently to fix the issue. Curious to know if others have heard anything similar from their DA's, but at least wanted to pass along what I've been told.

He did mention that they will be offering a 21" all-season in the near future for those who would like that option, but couldn't offer a timeline yet.
 
I also love Porsche a
and will miss my Panamera GTS. The problem with owning a Porsche is you have to get a Porsche key chain and get Porsche friends, who all wear Porsche hats and sniff corks at Porsche outings. 😆
The funny thing is I have a 911TTS cabriolet and I’m getting a Lucid. I feel I’m making up for the carbon footprint of that car. 😂

I’m in NY and am now so happy I stuck with the 19”

Thanks for this info, I was hoping this would happen. My mobile service tech said he’d seen 50 (yeah I heard him right, FIFTY not FIFTEEN) 21” Pirelli fail, and only one 19”.

I’m glad Lucid is looking out for all of us. That’s great effort at expense of their business bottomline.

🤦‍♂️ And I’m driving a 21” with a little sidewall cut all these time being a high risk. I went to Discount Tires and was told twice should be ok. 😞

It seems 19” is really practical in the city, but that 21” Aero blades is so damn good looking to me.
