Sorry, I'm unsure what this post is trying to call out. If it's regarding my comments on not being software locked, I'm actually an engineer at Ford. Not sure where the information is atm, but it's definitely public knowledge and I believe is noted on the Youtube video with Ford demoing the charger itself.

The major downside is the charger itself is sold out. As another note, there is no dedicated application for it atm that I'm aware of although there will be integration with the FordPass app (which will only work if you own a Ford Vehicle). That's only for robust application functionality though. The charger itself is agnostic to any vehicle that supports any open CCS standards (a big push/thing to note from Doug Field).

I can confidently say that Ford’s charger is not software locked and there hasn’t been any reports of this happening.

That’s good news, but sadly as you stated it will only work if you have a ford vehicle (outside of just being able to charge). At least for the time being. I’m sure Lucid will operate the same way and over time open up the bi directional charging capabilities to other vehicles with that feature.

I got lazy and didn't thank you for the prior info . My post was just to confirm the Ford charger's specs may be similar to that of the Lucid's in case someone like me was looking to get an 80 amp. But as you pointed out, it is lacking a fair amount of app control.

Well, considering there is no app outside of Ford’s vehicle specific app, the car won’t determine for itself to send power back to the house? I’d say that functionality is most likely to be enabled in the Ford specific app for right now. Maybe a button appears inside the car? I did note that the car can still use the Ford charger to charge their vehicle..

Oh no, there will be a dedicated app in the future (just not now). No app is required for that feature though.

Yeah…. . I honestly would have picked up one myself simply for maximizing out amperage

Oh snap. I only have 100 amp into my home ... Trust me this limitation has been haunting me since day 1. Before I purchased my home, I asked if they would have 200 amp to the home. I was told yes (sadly not in writing). Nope... 100. I called the electrical company. By the time my house was finished and I moved in, everything was paved and done all around... so the cost to put in 200 is 'sub optimal'. Likely will be getting solar to augment the home... I guess I just have to be careful about what all I am running at once.

Read the amperage on the main circuit breaker.

Look at the big main circuit breaker, probably just underneath your electric company's glass-domed meter where the power enters your house. It'll probably be labeled 100, 150, or 200 (amps).

If looking for a non lucid home charger, I would go with either the ChargePoint or the wall box. There are several other good options though depending on personal needs and circumstances.

Looking to get EA home charger ... Home Station and plug it directly into the 14-50 outlet in the garage. Between EA public charging and this, I can hopefully track charging under one app.

Except you don't track charging at EA stations with the EA App because it all goes through Lucid and the Lucid app

Might be better to hardwire a Chargepoint Home flex and charge at 48 or 50 amps instead of a 14-50 plug and only get 40. Sometimes it makes a difference.

Except you don't track charging at EA stations with the EA App because it all goes through Lucid and the Lucid app

As per EA Homepoint landing page: "

• Electrify America App
  Sync charging information from home and public stations to one account."

Is the above not applicable for Lucid since the 'free' EA charging comes under Lucid? And Lucid tracks that data? Meaning EA will hand it off to Lucid & possibly EA & Lucid account credentials are different?
