First Dream Edition Delivery!

Your GDE must be fairly close to delivery if it’s already off the production line, connected to Lucid’s network and receiving initial and final software updates.
Not mine…I am in line for a GT and as a non Air owner who wants the HUD I am more of a winter timeline.

I agree and was only kidding, as I wouldn't agree to be filmed, anyway. But Lucid is already poking that dog with a stick by boasting that half of all Lucid orders are coming from people switching from Tesla.

As for @Osyris, he's also disappeared from the Reddit thread where he first reported he was taking delivery of Dream Edition No. 1, although people have asked him to report on the delivery.

If he's out of the country, he seems to be somewhere beyond the reach of the internet. I've done a lot of international travel for business and pleasure but never found myself unable to send out a quick message if I wanted.

it seems much more likely to me that he's been asked to remain silent online until Lucid can make an official splash themselves.

I don’t know if Lucid owners are given any preferential treatment. The sales advisor who called me to confirm the order wasn’t even aware that I’m an existing customer.
I’m in no rush so waiting is perfectly fine with me.

Air Dream Edition owners were given first dibs.

That’s logical. They paid the most money so should be at the front of the lines.
After this tier, seems to me whether you paid full price for a GT or a new customer, there may be no difference.
Again, this doesn’t bother me but may irk others.

Except we know that's not true based off this post
? Doesn't mean the Air Dream Owners actually placed orders right away. I think that offer was for place holders. I was extended that offer but chose not to, since I do not need an SUV.

According to the Lucid website, "current Lucid owners will be given priority for delivery." (https://lucidmotors.com/knowledge/vehicles/gravity/the-basics/lucid-gravity-essentials):

I have owned a Lucid Air Dream Performance since December 2021. I ordered a Gravity GT the morning orders opened on November 7. A Sales Specialist was assigned to me that same afternoon. I switched that order to a Dream Edition the day its orders opened on February 26. I ordered an additional Gravity Dream Edition on March 31.

One of the orders is the same configuration that has been in production since December and keeps showing up in test drives: Aurora Green / Tahoe / 7-seat.

I got a text from my Sales Specialist on Easter Sunday, almost two weeks ago, asking me to confirm both my order configurations as VINs would follow shortly.

Since then . . . nada. People who don't own Lucids and who ordered their Dream Editions only two weeks ago have already gotten VINs and their accounts have marked their orders as "In Production". Another non-Lucid owner who is taking delivery out of the same studio as me has already been given a likely delivery date of May 23.

As with @EVCar, I wasn't in any rush. In fact, I didn't want one of the first cars off the production line. But last week a tennis acquaintance approached us to buy the Tesla we were going to trade against one of the Gravities. He offered a good price if he could get the car now, as he had a buyer for the Audi he wanted to swap for an EV. Thinking at least one of the Gravities would soon go into production, we did the deal this week.

No one at Lucid can tell me why neither of our orders is moving. We also have a good offer on the Honda Odyssey we were planning to trade for the other Gravity, but at this point I'm holding off on accepting it as I don't want to go down to one car while waiting to hear something from Lucid.

Production sequencing seems to be completely random as far as I can tell. It is not giving priority to Lucid owners. It is not based on delivery destination. It is not based on configuration.

Yeah but counting on prior customers feeling the same way is not a good business model. How hard is it to seach your database for prior buyers and date of purchase with the reservations received? This seems like the kind of attention to detail that is expected from a top tier luxury EV manufacturer...

Seems like that to me because if current Lucid owners are indeed given priority, I'd expect the sales advisor calling to confirm the order to mention that to me. He surely was unaware that I have a Lucid bought from his manager.
But Lucid's execution has never been easy to interpret from my cheap seat.
For example, I had 2 Airs on order for months but I could never got a test drive.
I ended up buying a German EV. Then fortuitously, the manager drove a Lucid to our house for a test drive.
Then, as they say, the rest is history, but Lucid could have sold me 2 cars if I had been able to get a 10-minute exposure.

if I call Lucid Customer Service from the phone number they have in their database it usually seems that they already have my car history pulled up. Early on in the Gravity ordering process, the sales people in the field could look at customer orders but were not able to make inputs (although that later changed). So the Lucid database seems to be compartmentalized, with the sales people probably having the most limited access of all. Just a guess, though.

That'd be a bit of a disadvantage for the sales folks.

Got it now. What a self-inflicted wound on Lucid's part. From a promotional perspective, you are the cream of the crop -- Air Dream and Gravity Dream 1st Adopters (no disrespect intended to our other owners; just illustrating a presumptive expectation of white glove treatment to highlight a point).

Some proactive and assuring communications to you would be expected. But, sometimes, things don't happen as might be expected.

Ambassadors can take some lumps, but always do better with hugs! 🫠

I can do without the hugs, but I'm one of those people who like to do as much planning for certain things as possible. I'm trying to make a lot of puzzle pieces come together with the Gravities since the limited Dream Edition run means I'm having to deal with two purchases and two disposals of cars at once.

I've got yet another joint replacement coming up, was hoping for a trip in the Gravity this summer to visit some friends in Blowing Rock, NC who are at their summer home there for only a couple of months, and am trying to figure out whether trade-ins or private sales are the best way to get rid of the two cars the Gravities are replacing. (One just got resolved with the Tesla sale, though.) On top of that, I don't want to put either car on the road until they are PPF wrapped and have radar/laser detectors installed, each of which task takes about a week even once you get an appointment which, in turn, can take a while.

More than getting a Gravity quickly, it is much more important to me to have some timelines to work with on delivery windows so that I can try to make all these puzzle pieces fit. And just watching the weeks ebb away with no word from Lucid while others are getting notices is getting more frustrating with each passing day.

Both our orders have the same exterior colors (green and black), the same interiors (Tahoe and Yosemite), the same seating capacity (7), and the same wheels (large- and mid-size) that have shown up recently in multiple videos, test drives, and are being reported by people whose orders have VINs and even delivery windows. So I doubt there is anything in our orders that is not yet available to the production line.

A "hug" in the form of timely and definitive information of status and delivery might have reduced the angst you are experiencing. That's what I meant. :-( So, sorry.

No need to apologize. I just meant my ego is not on the line here by anything Lucid does or does not do. It's really just some idea of a timeline that I want for setting a few things up. For instance, if I had a delivery window for at least one of the cars, I could get on the calendars now for the PPF wrap and the radar install a couple of weeks beyond that to allow for delivery slippage so that I could use that car for the NC trip. I don't even care which car. Even in the off-season down here, the waits for appointments have been a month or more.

Advice on radar/laser choices and install? Love my AGT - only angst is we don’t easily recognize how fast we are going ( wife did not even look over in the 90’s despite a history of aggressively alerting me when cruising in mid 70’s in Porsches, BMWs and MBs!) Radar/Laser is in order!
