Electrify America charging free?

I’m still getting free plug and charge even though the new app shows “Inactive”

I was charged for the first time using the one and only EA charging station a few weeks ago. My Pure was purchased in August of 2024 and this charge in December of that year. I rarely go there but up until then i was getting free charging. I texted Lucid and their reply was that since I bought the Pure charging wasn’t included. I was told that charging was included when I picked up my car and then I found this in my App. Said I was good for 1000 kWh or 1 year. I haven’t been back since not because of that but I have a home charger.

How did you use the charger? Did you just plug in or did you use the EA app? If you use the EA app, you will be charged.

I plugged the car in and in the past it started up with a 0.00 on the charger. This time, it asked me for my CC on the station. Kind of took me by surprise. I was at <100 mi so I usually take a trip to this charger so my home charger doesn’t run for 10 hours straight. The very strange thing was that charge doesn’t show up on my charging history either. Almost like it didn’t happen. But it did.

This has been an occasional problem since day one. Sometimes the negotiation with Lucid fails. Next time, ignore the station, open up your Lucid app. It should give you an Electrify America button that isn’t usually there. Press it, pick the stand number you’re at, and it will do the authorization for you.

I certainly will give that a try

Good evening,

Today, I received an email requesting my credit card in the event I have idle fees. It stated that "idle fees incurred pursuant to your Electrify America Plan will no longer be waived and you will be responsible for any idle fees incurred while using Electrify America charging locations (prices may vary). Please add a valid credit card to your Lucid Wallet by February 5th to retain your complimentary charging privilegeI have never incurred idle fees for the entire time I have owned my Lucid."

First, I've never had idle fees. Second, I didn't know Lucid was waiving idle fees. Third, I assumed any idle fees would be my responsibility. Fourth, I paid for the complimentary charging when I purchased the Lucid and a CC was not required at that time. Fifth, how can Lucid deny my ability to continue charging my vehicle for about 35 days, from February 5th to March 30th (the end of my complimentary charging), when I've had no idle fees during the entire time I've had my Lucid?

I would understand if I had ever had idle fees, but I've never ever gone anywhere near one minute of idle fees. I'm always jumping up to disconnect as soon as the charging is complete.

Can't Lucid stop those who have idle fees from charging their vehicles until they pay them? I had to obtain a new CC twice last year for fraud. I don't give my CC to companies that really have no use for it. Lucid will not have a use for my CC after March 30th. Once the complimentary charging is finished, I will charge at home, so Lucid will not need the CC.

then don't add it. And give up the month of free charging.

I got the same thing. So the complimentary free charging ends for everyone on Feb 5th?

I don't believe so. I read the email as - it only ends if you choose not to add a credit card to your LUCID wallet.

Mine says ends 36th month of purchase but if i miss to add a credit card by Feb 5th i loose the free EA benefit.

The way it's written - I've interpreted as free charging ends on Feb 5th. Afterwards, if you want to continue to use EA charging, add your credit card with no interruptions.

Even the mobile app no longer shows Free Charging.

Yup got the Feb 5 email as well. My 12 months free charging technically expired in December 2024

Can anyone with 2024 models, share their experience with cost of charging at EA stations?
I have a 2024 Air Pure and for me the charging was free. I was surprised when I figured out that the charging is free.

Same with me, I also received that email today

Appears no Lucid ever made has ever had to pay for EA through Lucid’s charging service.

I also received the "Add a credit card" email today. There is so much inconsistency about this "Complimentary EA Charging" offer. Does any owner actually know how many years of free EA charging they have? Does any owner actually know when their free charging plan expires? Where is the best place to verify this? I thought I had three years from the time of delivery (or sale/lease signing). This C&D article is in alignment. But I've seen several sources state "one year" as well. Some even say "Free charging ends with 2024 models"; obviously this wasn't the case since my 2025 is currently on the plan and EA charging works at no cost, without handshake issues, without a mobile app.

Is the email really just telling us to add a card since the plan doesn't cover idle fees? It certainly doesn't read that way, regardless of the header.

(Second Image): "According to the promotion". Another dead end. Where is the official promotion material? I never received a pamphlet or an email detailing the promotion.
