Electrify America charging free?

Since my free EA charging extends beyond 2/5/25, I do not think Lucid expects me to sign up for the Lucid Charging Service (available upgrade) at this time, but they DO want me to make sure I have a valid credit card on file for any idle or congestion fees that I incur. If I'm wrong about that, it would be great to know before 2/5/25.

then don't add it. And give up the month of free charging.
I'll submit a complaint to my State Attorney General. I paid for three years of charging when I purchased my vehicle. Lucid can't change the agreement after I've paid the full price for the vehicle. Lucid should be able to update the software to restrict those who have the idle fees without requiring a CC from those who do not have idle fees.

You were never promised no idle fees, that was explicitly excluded in the agreement as it should be for all our sakes. It just hasn’t been enforced yet. There is no need to overreact. If you were promised three years of free charging we have no reason to believe you won’t get that. This email is somewhat poorly worded, that’s all. You do still have to supply credit card info to cover idle fees. If you move your car from fast chargers in a timely manner, which you should anyway, you have nothing to worry about.

How can they charge you idle fees if they don't have a card to charge?

You can take this to whomever you like. You're going to get laughed at. Lucid is by no means changing the end date of your agreement. You will get your three years of free charging. They simply need a way to collect money form you IF and only IF you decide to be a jerk and leave your car at a charger long past the time needed for charging.

You're not going to do that, right? So you have nothing to worry about.

If anything, they let us all get away with being that jerk for far too long. It was never part of the agreement. They just didn't have the infrastructure in place to charge us before. Now they do.

As others have said, you were never promised no idle fees and to believe that you should let your EV sit parked while not charging and NOT have any kind of penalty? Ponder that for a moment…do you really want to be that guy / gal? It’s rather selfish.

No overreaction here. I have never incurred idle fees. I'm not the one Lucid is targeting so the wide net Lucid is casting should be reduced. Lucid should not require a cc from those who have never incurred ANY idle fees. Assuming Lucid has the records to go after those who have incurred idle fees, Lucid should require them to pay the fees before free charging resumes.

I've never allowed my Lucid to hog a charger after it has completed charging. I am at my vehicle and move it promptly. So, Lucid is casting too wide of a net. I'm not the one.

Too funny! Better read your purchase agreement. Mine says with regard to the free charging program: "Charging sessions for reasonable personal use during promotional period. 10-minute grace period provided when charging is complete, after which idle fees may apply. Charging plan enrollment required."

I can't find it now, but someone on this forum recommended that I read my purchase agreement. So, I did. That led me to the Lucid Charging Terms and Conditions. It states: "In order to utilize your Lucid Charging Service, you must (1) be enrolled in the Lucid Charging Service; (2) have accepted theLucid Charging Terms and Conditions and Lucid Privacy Policy; and (3) provide a valid payment method in your Lucid Wallet."

Since it appears to have been part of the purchase agreement all along, Lucid did not change its requirements after the fact. Even though I never saw the Lucid Charging Terms and Conditions previously, that is not Lucid's problem, as it appears Lucid did not change its agreement with me, but is simply enforcing its agreement. Although I still think Lucid should go after those who have incurred the idle fees, I must accept that nothing changed in my contract. Lucid is simply enforcing its rights against those who have incurred idle fees pursuant to the agreement.
