CarPlay internet carrier ?

This might be an obvious question but recently I changed my carrier to T-Mobile from Verizon. It would first appear my calls are getting cut on the video chat app I use while driving.

So does car play apps use Lucid 5g or lte carrier?
Or it uses your home cell phone carrier?
Just curious how it works.

Yeah I don’t use the video aspect it’s just our team calling thing like zoom but it’s called Amazon chime
