Air Dream Deliveries?

It really depends on how often you road trip and will use the network. Sometimes you get lucky and have a good run, other times you're calling EA at every stop. The reason I want the AGT is the large mileage means less reliance on EA and can potentially skip one or two chargers along the way on my road trips. I look at it this way, 80% of the time i'm charging my car at home and 20% of the time i'm road tripping and screaming at EA. Is it worth not getting the car for 20% pain? I don't think it is and to be fair, EA has NEVER left me stranded. Yes, i've been on the phone for 30 to 40 mins with them at times but they've always managed to get a charger working for me.

The two main issues I've had with EA are

1. The charger just won't authenticate \ start the session (move to another charger if available or call EA to reset the charger)
2. The charging speed sometimes won't go above 30Kw (restart the session you sometimes get lucky or move the car to another charger)

Point 2 is the most frustrating as you can go to grab a coffee, bathroom break etc. and come back to discover that hardly any charge has been added to your car. If i'm eating and away from the car I tend to constantly check the MyAudi App to make sure the speed being delivered is correct

That's interesting. I haven't had anything like that happen to me in the last 3-5 months. My e-tron is almost always pulling about 135-145 rates at a 150kW charger. The maintenance in the NY area might be better than some other areas.

Some encouraging words is that this 73 includes cars parked by the factory where at least one (it looks like maybe two) are Grand Tourings not Dream Editions. Theoretically meaning it's less than 73 Dreams left. This, mixed with a post saying their DA said VIN numbers for Grand Tourings have begun being assigned, means we're heading in the right direction.

My DA sent me an email today saying that “we are just bringing our first core trim into production (grand touring)” which is consistent with other board members saying that production has started. That means everything on the line would still be Dreams unless they were cranking out a few AGTs for test drives before the customer’s cars hit.

I am not sure how you draw the conclusion that the only Dream Editions left to ship are the ones parked in the photo. There still may be DEs late in production that are not yet waiting for shipment or fit and trim pieces.

Agree. No one knows. Presumably nearly every car on the production is still a Dream and we do not know how long that line is.

No one can know for sure, but we do know:

• Grand Touring initial production started today
• Some Grand Touring VINs have been assigned (based on this post)
  • However contradicting reporting (here)
• There were 85 cars in the lot on Sunday, now there's 73.
  • There were no Grand Tourings in the lot on Sunday, now there's at least one.

I'm optimistic but never 100% sure.

And the highest DA number we have seen is under 300. There might be another 100 Dreams still on the production line.

There is no way to know if there were GTs parked on Sunday since the photo was not good enough to tell. Since a few GTs have already been produced and sent to studios for test drives and there are many studios without test drive cars, seeing a GT does not tell us anything about the DE production. That GT may be a test drive car with DEs behind it.

It'll be interesting to see how many deliveries they hit by February 21st, because the rate they're heading now doesn't seem feasible to even hit 520.

Getting the cars physically to customers after production depends on the customers' schedules, so I'm a little less concerned about that part. It's good that they appear to have actually assembled all the DE cars. With a regular car maker, "delivery" would be to the dealership, so it's not really a fair comparison.

That is interesting, but noteworthy that they only went to highly rated sites on PlugShare. So sites that have problematic machines or broken hardware were not analyzed. Nonetheless, it is saying if you use PlugShare to locate the better sites, EA should work well.

For the second time in a row, Electrify America came out first. With 702 out of a possible 1,000 points, Electrify America received umlaut’s 2021 Best-in-Test award. Tesla Supercharger, scoring 649 points, was ranked second, followed by ChargePoint (611), EVgo (578), Greenlots (548), Blink (505), and EV Connect (472 points). umlaut and Charged evaluated the seven providers in two categories: 1) Digital Platform – the digital experience on a charging provider’s website and smartphone app; 2) Charging Location – the physical interaction at the charging station location. While Electrify America also took the lead in the Digital Platform category, Tesla Supercharger scored highest in Charging Locations.

So, digital platform > charging location. Huh.
