2.0.24 Software Update

Mine seemed to activate instantly the first time I tried it.
You are probably the most mileage accrued in this thread to have it calibrated long ago.

Have you drove awhile in ACC mode to get enough calibration? I would ask SA about it.

I believe I have. I started using ACC from the very beginning, when I took delivery of the car seven weeks ago and drove home on the freeway. A 109 mile distance, mostly freeway. Since then I’ve engaged ACC at every opportunity on the freeway, most especially after I downloaded v2.0.24.

Does activating the turn signal keep the lane departure from kicking in?
That’s been my experience. If you try to change lanes without signaling, it fights you. Signal, and it goes along with the lane change.

Signaling will temporary grey out HA sign in your cluster display, after lane change HA will be back in highlight color.

I do turn it off. The issue is that it doesn't stay off. So when I jump back in the car the next morning if I don't think to turn it off before I leave and I don't notice it, I get startled when my car swerves as I pass bicyclists.

Does your's not turn back on or do you just always remember to turn it off every time you get in your car?
I dislike the lane departure feature (in all cars .. not just the Air). But, Ii've turned it off and it has stayed off ... unless I use HA, then HA turns it on, but as soon as I'm back to ACC or no assistance, then the Lane Departure goes back to being off.

The only time I've seen it come back on is if I (or my wife) turned the profile to "Guest" (which I haven't touched) .. then it's on.

For me at least, it's working as designed. If yours isn't, I'd have it looked at.

Your sensors need a recalibration. I believe @Adnillien had a similar issue and a recalibration fixed it.

I had a four wheel alignment done which fixed HA pulling to the left. Now it centers up fine. The service team did tell me that a few cars have had to have their ADAS sensors re-calibrated. He has seen that on a few DEs only.

🤔 pretty sure it doesn't for me though. It only grays out when you start to turn the wheel and takeover from HA.
It's my only gripe with HA. Which has been working pretty well otherwise.

mine doesn't do it either. Passengers even notice the jolt from the car when it disengages so its certainly not seamless.

I had nightmare issues with my 2020 Model X. I paid for FSD and never got to experience it. Two really bad issues I had was car bricked on a road trip, 50 miles into it. Numerous occurrences of phantom braking. Park assist, Autosteer temporarily unavailable, falcon doors not opening, infotainment freezing, blank screens (both or one at a time), etc., etc. Here is just on of many log report from 2021 on the nonstop/continuous issues I would get:

View attachment 6777

So, even though I have issues and have had issues with my Lucid, at least they show up once in a while. Model X was one of the worst cars I have ever owned.
I had a 6 seater X. it's really a tight interior. Captain chairs looked cool tho. The 3rd row is only good for kids. I can't tell you how many times the falcon doors and also the trunk had hit us on our heads when closing. The sensors did not work a lot of times... my wife hated that car but she did love her 3.

HA is working well on CA-17 and US-101 from Gilroy to San Francisco. It also works well along CA-1 in Monterey or Santa Cruz, but it struggles in between. The area between Moss Landing and Watsonville is a two lane highway with several left turns. HA automatically veers towards the openings to enter the left turn lanes, requiring frequent overrides to continue straight. It does not seem to do that in other areas with left turn lanes, so the breaks here must be wider than most, leading the car to follow the far left line. This would be a good area for further testing.

Otherwise, others here have already provided feedback I would agree with, so I will save you from the redundancy. :)

Thanks much for this thread. I have the 2.0.24 update, and my AGT has 19" wheels. The car is, by far, my favorite auto, and I am comparing it to some awesome cars like my Jag XJl. I love the software updates and the work that went into them is impressive and obvious. Kudos. That said, I made notes during my trip from LA to Palo Alto this morning, and I think it is apropos for this thread. I am comparing the experience to my 2022 Tesla MS with FSD.

The Lucid is a far superior driving car to the Tesla. No contest. I love it.

HA
a) is superior to my Tesla FSD. They both track well and handle traffic jams with aplomb, but there were no ghost stops with HA.
b)The Lucid HA is more an Englishman than the Tesla FSD - it is much more polite but much more strict. I can't even look at the radio without HA delicately chiming. The Tesla was always threatening, barking, buzzing, and irritating - just less often. Lucid is so much better but the intense warning frequency must be tempered.
c) HA's biggest issue is that it does not like faint highway lines or moderate curves. FSD never had a problem with these. Nor does HA tell you that it's the problem. It just suddenly disengages, and I find this a bit dangerous. The Tesla slowed down for moderate or more curves; perhaps try that?d) HA could not handle the sun shining on the road at low angles. That was a surprise and something Tesla could do.
e) I find the lane change feature of HA to be better than FSD. FSD would do it automatically, but I rarely agreed with FSD's decision. HA is better.

DRIVING SOFTWARE INTERFACE
a) I still don't know how to put the map on the top display or the lower panel. It's dangerous to be trying to find the music when that display is always disappearing when you want to know where you are.
b) audio volume is too low
c) Tidal works great and sounds terrific

HVAC
a) Why does it not remember to turn on with the last settings? I am always remembering to adjust it when I get cold or hot. My Jag always remembered that I liked it at 72.
b) why is synch always turning off?
Compared to the Tesla this is OK since I think Tesla used a Galilean temperature gauge. But for a 150K car, this should be easy.

RANGE
a) At 70 MPH, from Palo Alto to LA, I get 420 miles of range. Returning, I get less.
b) this is not a big problem as the distance I need is 350. I wish it were more.
c) I get 4.2 m/kw on a flat road and about 3.7 on mountainous roads.
d) This performance is OK and better than my Tesla by quite a bit (which claimed 400 miles). BUT....

EA SUCKS. Truly SUCKS. Lucid sold this relationship to us. Lucid has got to fix it. I was told that I needn't worry about giving up the ease of recharging at Tesla's stations because I could use the EA network. I was shown a map of how extensive that is. The map would not look so good if they only listed the working stations. So, that was a bill of goods and the ONLY thing I am upset with Lucid about. Examples:
a) my stop at Aratredero Shell: ALL the stations were not working. All of them.
b) at Paso Robles, 2 of 5 were working, and neither was automatically linked, so I used the app. Good thing it was 7:30 AM
c) at Harris Ranch, only 2 of 8 stations were working. The only working 350 kW was being used by a Kia. Several cars were waiting.
d) The rated amps at any station are independent of the charge they deliver. I usually get 50% of the rated amperage even when there are no other cars. Sometimes I get less.
In SUM: I don't worry about the range of a Lucid. I worry that the charging stations that I need will not be working or have a long line of waiting cars. It is, thus, still range anxiety that I thought I was getting rid of by buying this car.

OVERALL:
KUDOS for the software updates. KUDOS for Lucid's stellar service. I think Lucid has just small tweaks to fix, and those seem normal.

BUT, Lucid must fix EA because they sold it to us.

Wow, this is a long thread.

I've had a Model S longer than (nearly?) anyone on this thread and my experience with the first MS software was equivalent to 1.x from Lucid. It was faster, but had a lot of bugs and much less functionality. They eventually fixed them, but I'd like to congratulate Lucid on the huge step up from 1.x to 2.0.x. I have high hopes for 2.1 and 3.0.

I feel like I need to request Android Auto about 25 times here to balance things out. Isn't anyone else on Team Android?

I'm using the heated seats every day and turning them on manually shouldn't be necessary. Outside air (or, better yet, weather temp) should be the driver.

The garage door controls are now more easily accessible (and work immediately) but I agree that closing the camera (even after shifting to drive) is a further inconvenience.

I don't think I've seen this mentioned elsewhere, but the no-seat-belt warning comes on the moment you hit the brake pedal (even before shifting into gear). On Tesla, they wait until >5mph before warning. Also, the warning is really loud.

You still can't reset the charge limit below the current charge, so if you don't remember at the right moments, you end up repeating the full-charge at home several times. Not good for the battery.

(My 2012 Model S bug list as well as my Lucid one are posted elsewhere)

There's a setting to have the seat heater come on automatically with climate control.
I'm also team Android, deeply, but am OK with the Air's functionality- except Google maps/navigation and Google Assistant are far superior to HERE and Alexa. Woulda shoulda coulda.

If you buckle your seatbelt first, before you push the brake pedal, it won't sound.

Is it true that the charger should NOT be plugged in to the car’s charging socket when installing an update?

I just left the house for five days with the charging cord plugged in. Naturallly I got a notification of a post-V2.0.24 update. I didn’t even know there were any more updates after .24.

I received an error when updating to .24 while the car was plugged in (that I outlined in another thread), but in the end, I don't believe the error affected anything.

Impressive! Better than what I’ve been able to get on that stretch.

I agree but unfortunately it’s not Lucid’s issue to resolve. EA is a completely separate company and can do whatever they like. It’s definitely not helping Lucid or any EV owner. Maybe the car companies could band together and tell EA enough is enough because customer complaints certainly aren’t resolving the network issues but again, I think everyone’s hands are tied when it comes to EA.

You are right that it is not Lucid's legal obligation. However, they sold that network to me, and by doing that, they vouched for it and so have some responsibility. I have no problems with Lucid, but they should work hard with EA - as I am sure they are - because if I vouch, I accept the responsibility. At least that is what I teach my MBA students.

Charging: Set the time to start charging or a destination time to be fully charged by. Most of us use time of day energy pricing and as of right now there's no way to plug in when you get home and have the car start charging later.
This. ^^^^^^
