Some odds and ends

If they wrapped it why wouldn't they extend the wrap another 1/4" to wrap completely under the trunk lid?
Good question. I have no answer. :-(

Masking tape edge?
Definitely not. If you have your DE, check it out personally. If I wanted to, I would be able to lift it off the surface, it's that apparent.

Masking tape edge?

I'm pretty sure the car panels are painted in a manner that doesn't require any masking, particularly at that location, as the paint covers both sides of the line.

Actually, think that portion of the trunk is a plastic molded piece and that part is part of the mold line.

Okay so, this is the FIRST time this has happened to me, but my door handle stayed depressed today and my rear left shade stopped working.
@hydbob , what happened after you tried resetting? Do both these issues still exist?

Yes the window no longer works, not just the shade from either the driver control or the door control itself. Door handle seems to be fine now.

I agree with you.
Well, I don't agree quite yet. The Eureka Gold DE shown has an even, consistent surface finish, above and below the "mold line.". If you look at my image, the top portion of lip has a wrapped surface appearance, not the painted finish look of the bottom portion. I've put this question to Customer Care and will report what they say.

The more I read this forum the more infuriated I get.
I agree that the last couple of days is the first time that I have had second thoughts about my GT purchase. The misaligned trunk rubbing on the bumper is a big concern. There have been other issues that indicate reliability problems rather than just software; latches, switch clips in the trunk, weather stripping, window shades.

The issues reset through software are not good but panel alignment and hardware reliability are not fixed through OTA.

Lol, imagine how we feel as owners! But realistically, I don't have it that bad. I'm not sure why window stopped working though...

Anyone having this issue with their app?

I agree that the last couple of days is the first time that I have had second thoughts about my GT purchase.

I have decided that I have to assess this car one of two ways.

1. Although the car absolutely delivers in dynamics and comfort, it falls well short of the initial build quality that Rawlinson promised over and over. Thus I regret buying it.

- or -

2. It's a first effort that was delivered with no more quality issues than the top-of-the-line Tesla we just bought almost a decade after Tesla began production. Thus, I can live with its shortcomings in the absence of anything else of equivalent performance, room, luxury, and style.

My addiction for powerful EV drivetrains has led me down the path of excusing issues I would never have countenanced with my earlier ICE cars. (After the abysmal reliability records of my 1997 Corvette and my 2004 Mercedes SL55 AMG, I left both brands and have never seriously considered going back.) I now find myself excusing Lucid for build quality issues just as I did/do Tesla.

Thus far, Lucid's service response has been solid and reassuring. However, that was still the case with Tesla when I bought my first Tesla in 2015. Then, along came the Model 3, and Tesla service went over a cliff and is still lying twisted on the canyon floor. If the scenario repeats at Lucid with the introduction of the SUV to a wider customer base, I'll be done with startup manufacturers for once and all. There is apparently no such thing as building a reliable car right from the outset. Here I sit wondering if driving this $170,000 car will scrape more paint off the bumper and when the license plate will go flying off.

Just tried mine and I have the same “unable to connect to vehicle.”

Anyone having this issue with their app?

My app is working today. However, I had a problem with the last OTA update. I downloaded the update using the Pilot Screen and got a message that the download was successful. But the dot next to the shield on my app, which indicates an update waiting, would not go away for a couple of days, nor would the shield icon respond.

Oops, scratch that. I just checked again (3 minutes later), and now my app is giving the same "unable to connect" message.

It only just started for me yesterday. You? I remember out to customer service already.

Has anyone who has received a car thus far NOT had to call Customer Service about something?

Whose car has had to have a mobile tech visit already or go into the shop for correction?

Mine has (2 mobile visits and awaiting transport to a service center)
My friend in Orlando has (mobile tech visit)
Ashoka has (3 weeks at a service center)
Alex has

Others?

They are coming Monday to replace the rear sunshade and also check on the window issue now. So that will be a total of 3 times they had to actually service it. 1 time mobile service came and they couldn't do the trunk thing.

So:
