Yes, This forum represents only a tiny fraction of folks interested in the Lucid Air.
The amount of cars shown in the south Florida Riviera Beach service center should be an indication of how many more people are out there who are not on this forum

I just signed the purchase agreement and am about to pay. What method do you recommend? wire transfer ot direct from the bank? when I try to use my bank account, they are asking for my bank account log in information including the password rather than usual routing number and account number. it is a little weird to give them my bank log in information. Appreciate any advice.
I was initially going to do a wire as I thought it was instant vs a transfer taking 3 to 5 business days. My DA told me the opposite and to do the transfer instead as they see it instantly.

I paid on a Tuesday evening and he confirmed with me he could see it on Wednesday even though the money hadn’t come out of my account yet, weird! The money was gone by time I picked the car up on Friday but didn’t get the receipt of payment until yesterday.

Also for those with their service entry box and breaker panel sunk into a wall with stucco or siding, adding a transfer switch to enable vehicle-to-home backup can involve some demolition and reconstruction. Installation cost would typically be in the $1-3 thousand range depending on locale.
Yes, true, major work. Even for putting the transfer switch next to an indoor panel sunk in the wall is major and costly. May need permit/approval from utility too and follow their local installation rules.

ACH is instant because it creates commitment to pay - when you do it, the recipient knows they'll get it because the bank chooses to credit their account immediately even if your own account is not immediately hit with the debit. Wires only verify when the recipient bank receives the funds which can take more time than expected.

Do I get a prize? 😆

To be fair, we don’t know what batch my car came out of. It certainly wasn’t the January 5th batch though. I just got lucky someone changed their mind.

thanks all for the info. I think I will go with Plaid then and update the tracker when I get the car.

It took only 3 hours for Lucid to email me that they they received my wire transfer and my car was now paid in full. I would rather wait 3 hours than give out my password and account number. Your choice.

The time differential is inconsequential between the two methods of payment.

THE DAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!

I got my VIN! Greys are truly on their way.
Was this in line with what they told you?

Lucid and Plaid will not store your credentials. They’re used only in that moment to communicate with your bank and are encrypted in transit - Plaid cannot read them. Once you’re authenticated, Plaid receives a token that they then can use for a limited amount of time based on the requested permissions. In the case of Lucid, I believe they’ll only have access temporarily in order to process the payment and after that the token expires.

You can read more about how it works here. If a wire works for you, then of course just go with that :)

> The lawsuit alleged that Plaid obtained more financial data than was needed when securing these transactions and that Plaid also obtained login credentials through its interface, known as "Plaid Link," which had the look and feel of the user's own bank account login screen, when users were actually providing their login credentials directly to Plaid.

Plaid settled this lawsuit. https://www.fox29.com/news/plaid-se...er-money-app-users-may-be-eligible-for-payout

Reminds me of how Mint (now owned by Intuit) gained access to user's accounts.

Kind of. They kept moving the goal posts, from the original 2-4 months to early April to the week of April 11 (last week) to April 18-30 most recently. So they made that last goal, but only after changing it multiple times.

My car is in transit to Millbrae after completing production. My DA did tell me - “there are a lot of cars there so it may be a while before the service techs can look at it.” Whatever that is worth! Email to pay will be received within a day or two she said.
