In the mist of the holidays, I have a few projectors I sort of want to be plugged into my vehicle. I really wish Lucid had included a 120/110 outlet…

Has anyone happened to try a V2L adapter on the Lucid (like the one Hyundai sells for the Ionic 6) to see if that will work?

Thank interesting. I have 12V to 110V converter. I feel safer using that more than direct car’s battery from other brand’s charger for unknown.

Don't think the software is there yet. We know it's possible through the tech talk video so maybe the code is waiting to be activated.

Oh yeah, this is what I’m going to do regardless. Do you have a recommendation brand?

I’m honestly curious if anyone here also has an Ionic and can just plug it in to see.

I bought it years ago, it is very practical

V2L can be an incredibly valuable feature. here is a post from the Genesis GV60 forum (the Genesis GV60 Performance not only has a 110 outlet in the back seat but also has the V2L adapter):

T.his little adaptor with the V2L function made our GV60 the neighborhood HERO on a very cold night last night.
Our neighbors were trying to get home on a chilly evening yet the turtle mode (and only 1% battery capacity) in their Niro caused them to pull over 1/2mile from home. They called asking about towing and/or extension cord options to a house 200’ away. Instead I was able to meet them on a quiet street under a street lamp, hook up the V2L adapter that came with the GV60, follow the directions provide on the attached card (also see above), and in about 30mins give them enough juice to get safely home.

One neighbor came out in the cold to ask if we were jump-starting the other car, and from the warm and cozy cabin off the GV60, I told them we were simply re-fueling them with electrons. Now they’re in the market for an EV. YAY! Btw, the 22’ Niro is a pretty nifty EV in its own right.
Love this car!!!

I apparently never followed up on this. I seriously wish Lucid would add a feature for comp mode (or something that didn’t require me to constantly wake the vehicle via the app. The projector was hosted in vehicle and it worked out pretty nicely.

So I tried one from Amazon and it didn't work...it did however smoke my Dewalt charger I tried. I think it put 240v through to the 120v outlets.
Anyway it Errored out on the screen fairly quickly. *sigh* I had high hopes! wish Lucid would hurry and make this work.

Tried which? The Inverter or the Hyundai V2L adapter?

We have the Hyundai V2L adapter .. what a joy it would be if Lucid pushed a software update which would make this *available* device work. Would have been a game changer for us during Hurricane Milton

For those looking for a relatively small load, I use a Bluetti EB3A battery that can charge off the 12V socket in the trunk. It has two 5A 120VAC power plugs and a 12VDC input made for charging from cars. I'm sure you can find other configurations, just keep in mind the trunk port can only supply up to 180W. That means if you exceed 1.5A 120VAC load on that battery (or a little lower since there is some loss), it will drain (slowly) rather than staying level.

I run an ecoflow Delta 2 in the trunk. The bad part is it only charges at 100 watts. from the 12v outlet

I tried the Ioinic V2L adapter from the charge port on the Lucid...it did NOT work.

The part that concerns me about this is that 12v outlet is connected to your 2x 12v batteries. It's essentially draining those rather the big car battery.

That can quickly lead to some undesirable consequences expediting issues that already exist with 12v battery failures from just regular everyday use outside of extra drainage.

This is a huge reason the whole industry needs to move to 24v battery technology, mostly struggling because of vendor stuff.

V2L is just so dang important for these things. I'm happy we have the "keep climate control on" option for a few things, but really wish we had a proper V2L plug that wasn't connected to the 12v batteries.

Well, it only works with the car on. It's technically "draining the 12v" but at the same time the DC to DC charger is constantly running charging from the big battery to the 12v.. because regular systems are drawing off that as well. I do agree V2L should be standard NOW also it wouldn't have hurt to toss a small 120v outlet inside the car, My parents old 2018 Jeep grand Cherokee has that.

I bought the EcoFlow alternator charger and installed it in my Grenadier that I use with my Delta 2 Max for camping and keeping my refrigerator running. When the engine is running the alternator charger recharges the Delta 2 Max at 800w, it’s been very effective.

I wonder if there is a way for you to install one of these in a Lucid?

I'm sure you could. Just like an aftermarket audio amplifier. Just need to tap off the 12v battery. The only thing is that it would be ideal to know what the Lucid has for a DC-DC charger, for example my old etron did 2200watts from the 400v batt to the 12v

I agree but modern cars are so complex, and there are so many different ways they can be configured, that car companies including Lucid have to make some decisions on what to include and what not to include and when to include it.

As I have said, I was on the waiting list for a Pure but gave up and got my GV60P when it popped up in the Scottsdale market. The reason i bring it up is that each car checked a huge number of my boxes but neither did check all nor could it. Fora example, the GV60P has a HUD, V2L and a 120 Volt outlet in the car but the Lucid Air has the range and the handling of a carefully designed sedan. Neither has everything.

Buyers have to determine what are their "must haves", what are the "want to haves" and what compromises they are prepared to make. For example, I have had HUDs for a number of years and put it on my required list. However, I was willing to compromise on the Lucid because the display is almost at the height of a HUD.

IMO, for a brand new company, Lucid has made major strides in what it is offering. But waiting is an essential part of buying a product that is brand new from a brand new company. One does need to be prepared for that. I do wish that Lucid was better at communicating regarding its products (e.g., I would have likely kept waiting for the Lucid if it had at least released the specs of the RWD Pure when it released the specs of the AWD Pure).
